Sorry for the pain but the officials are part of the game as well. Sometimes they make judgments we don't agree with, but that's all part of the game. I think if every play was analyzed carefully from sideline-to-sideline a penalty could be found. It sucks, but the other team always feels like they've been screwed as well when they don't win. Perspective and bias are a lot.

The Refs also screwed Virginia Tech Vs Miami today. The Refs called a VT TD on the last play and there wasn't any clear video to overrule the call. But the Refs overruled it anyway! If you notice as soon as we got the first pick six ,and went up 17 -6 , the very next play was a penalty on Carolina . The ref's instantly slowed the game down and took it from us when it was convenient. Scripted you might as well say LSU won the "wrastling "match, it's almost as obvious!

The actual call that should’ve been made in this case would be targeting, you can’t hit them in the head anymore, and if you have watched as much college football as you say you have then this should’ve been a easy call for you, I realize your upset, I get it, but the rules come into play here, the this player should’ve been ejected and first and goal from the five yard line for lsu. It was a good call per the RULES - The NCAA blindside block rule is a rule in college football that prohibits open field blocks against an opponent that are initiated from outside the opponent's field of vision. The rule was changed in 2019 to prioritize player safety. Also the players no longer had the privilege to deliver blindside blocks by employing forcible contact on the opponent. Good call per the rules. You don’t like the rules take it up with the NCAA.

I am frustrated with the bad call as well. Have you timed the video to know when the hit took place and then used that time count to pinpoint where the refs were at that same time and what they were actually watching when the contact was made? I'd be interested in knowing if the ref who threw the second flag was even looking at the quarterback or watching the area around Nick. I'm just as curious if the ref who threw the first flag was even watching the QB when we blocked him to the ground.

If you watch it one more time. As the ball carrier returned the pick. #6 is clearly blocked in the back with the line ref standing 6 feet from it, looking right at the penalty and never even attempts to throw a flag. If he does the penalty offsets and we get a touch down. I agree, if we get that score we win the game. That would put us in the top 25 and undefeated (4-0) in 2 weeks with top 5 and undefeated Ole Miss and traitor Juice Wells coming to town. Could have even been another college game day appearance. I also agree as a die hard SC fan since 1984. The first season I had season tickets. That if we loose because we get beat or just fall off the edge we just loose. It happens rather often. To loose because the refs know that another loss for LSU, especially to SC would put them out of the playoff contention. It sucks!! The horse collar tackle call was also ridiculous. He didnt have the perfect angle to tackle the qb in the 6x6inch tackling zone they have created for qbs and his hands were on his shoulders while he was parralel with him. The horse collar is supposed to be grabbing someone by their shouldwr pads behind the neck.

The main problem with plays such as this ,is that there is no standard for what and when it should be called there is no standard, it's completely based on the whims and moods of the individual refs in those particular spots ,could it been called, by the somewhat still vague definitions of these rules, yes, Should it have been called ? No . Is and has it always been called ? No.I believe the one against Kennard that took away Fortune's pick 6 and gave LSU a first down was much more egregious. The only penalty that should have been called on that play is holding on the their tackle .

Blew a 17 point lead, LSU brought it to a 7 point game, then SC blew a 14 point lead had 4 turn overs including one on their own endzone. Had a 4 point lead and the ball with less than 4 minutes left in the game but blame the referees. This is why South Carolina is never going to be a Championship program in football.
