I`ve always liked these Uniden Grant XL radios. Just stock in appearance/ like new with a good tune, are a beast and reliable radio. Just like this one in your video, looks and sounds great. I`ve still have a Uniden Grant XL and a Uniden Grant with the grey face. I wouldn`t mind getting a Black Uniden Grant XL, and a Uniden Grant LT. I don`t want President Grant with the 858 chip. For some reason I`ve never really liked 858 radios. Cheers.

@ Jamie. Have you ever restored an original aluminum mic insert from a leson tw-232. I`ve got 2 lesons here that are pulled apart, missing parts, parts are damaged and only 1 has an insert. Which is damaged, has a hole in it and a little tare as well. Was just wandering if their is any way of repairing the insert as it seems to be pretty much impossible to find and original insert for sale. Cheers.

I don't think I've ever come accross a 138xlr in Aus. I have a few 148GTL's, but all are MB8719 chassis'. I have a few UPD858 mobile radios stashed away, as well as an 18ch Washington with UPD858 in excellent un-modded condition, last I time I tested it, it was a beast of a radio🤣👍🇦🇺

Bought a Cobra 29 AM/FM about 12 months ago on a Black Friday sale on Amazon. Need to save for a Station Master or such to mount it on my shed

Have you ever tried getting the TW232 poder coated ? Some say the cast alloy wouldnt take the heat ?? Ps. I use 3 lever micro switches side by side to get all the contacts for PTT. Peace.

I’m a New Subscriber from NZ and just got back into CB After a 30 year absence and I’m still learning, now one of these Leson’s come up on Trade Me recently it was a Leson DT-251 and I was pretty keen on a desk Mic for a couple of my old Classics and I was wondering if they would suit an Apollo Mk 4 or the Kemtronic SSB -2000 I have? Or is this mic more for a Ham set??

Love the old Apollo's I've just got back into CB after a 30 year absence and fired up my old Apollo Mk4 still works pretty well But is a little of frequency But it's hard to find a Tech in the city I'm in that will tune it not to many familiar with the old CBs. I absolutely Love the old CBs I also have a Kemtronic SSB 2000 (Brenton Loves these) and Ferris 5000 SSB and Midland 13-893 I'm in NZ👍🇳🇿

I've got one of these in perfect condition. It is on display in my shack. It harkens back to the days of black and chrome faces and big, easy-to-read meters.

That radio was my 1st SSB radio in late 70s.
