Stromer Branded Berlin Trunkbag Review - Stromer ST7
I was wondering how you feel about Stromer announcing they’re pulling out of the US market? I, also, have a Stromer ST1X and I’m worried about parts availability. I purchased a new battery before the webstore closed and glad I did.
@@Ilovesactown Hi.. I am still processing it.. I understand (sort of) why they are pulling out.. but I think the way they are communicating to customers has been really poorly done… I am still doing homework on this issue so stay tuned. I love my bike .. and I am a fan of the brand but Stromer has not indicated in any way beyond warranty support how they intend to maintain a brand connection with their customers that spent a ton of money with their company.
@ I’m way out of warranty and even before they announced the closing, we had zero dealers in Sacramento. Nearest was San Francisco-not exactly where you want to be driving to/from. I found an old Stromer dealer who got me past my error code PTSD. Had to get a new motor and replaced the internal electric circuit board. About $1700 dollars later I have a bike worth investing a new battery. There’s a Red Bull ST7 for sale out of SF and he’s asking 10k with 34 miles with leather Stromer pannier. Not sure he can get that price given the announcement.

@@amanjasani Thank you for watching and the complement
I have been shooting with the RicohG3x for a few years and have been really wanting to get the q3-43- but cannot pull the trigger. Keep coming back to the fundamental question you are trying to answer, is picture quality worth the inconvenience, even if i could afford it. The ricoh gives more control than an iphone, hangs on my wrist most of the time, hardly noticeable and you get better framed photos than the iphone for street. So confused - keep up the good work - you speak for a lot of us.
Thank you so much.. To be honest I love taking pictures with my iPhone, because it’s always with me, easy to carry, and takes good pictures, and you can be spontaneous. The Q3 is not that.. it’s bigger (while not a big as other systems) and you have to plan ahead as far as having it with you. However, I think if you can get over that hurdle the image quality you get is way different than an iPhone in my case, and could be different to your system. Now back to the original question is the picture quality worth the inconvenience… I am still not sure.
Hi Jason, I have owned the Q3 for as long as you have and my experience is not dissimilar to you even though I am somewhat more advanced in my photography skills. I essentially shoot with Canon R system and my muscle memory is more attuned to Canon. So I have to take my time to work each shot and not to be impatient. So slowing down is key . Best wishes
Thank you so much for the advice and for taking the time to comment..
Looks like you are enjoying your life .Enjoy your Leica
@@johnmueller5482 Thanks John… More to come :)
Imo the normal strap you showed there from peak design can scratch the camera. I used to use it more but when you just out your camera in your next car seat for example if they are put next to each other these huge plastic buckles will scratch the sides. So I use different straps for my leica cameras
I have not experienced that yet but thank you for the warning
Enjoyed that Jason - very useful - thanks. You've got a camera and you take photos with it; therefore you're a photographer. You're not Ansel Adams or Annie Leibovitz, but you've got time Sir. All the best and it wasn't until 21.10 when I realised what you were going to do with the Leatherman. 😃
Thank you, Andrew, for watching and commenting... People seem interested in this camera, so I will post another one with photos and some learning curve challenges. I could only imagine the thoughts that people may have had about the leatherman. 🤣
@@jasonlynch9979 I look forward to it. I’ve got an official Leica handgrip on the way, which for reasons I can’t understand is cheaper than their thumb grip (although i’ve had vacations cheaper than that thumb grip, so who knows). I find the Smallrig a bit chunky on the Q3 and not a fantastic fit on the underside with a small but noticeable gap. Anyway, it’s a personal choice; so best wishes to you. 👍
Great video!!! Question, I have the same SmallRig Grip but can you elaborate on your painting steps? What durable paint did you use? Do you regret it?
Hi. I just used painter's tape and a sharp exacto knife to tape off the areas I did not want to paint, mainly the rubber grips and anything else rubber. I linked the exact paint I used in the description of this video, and you can get it on Amazon or at a hardware store. Give it a light sanding and also wipe it down with rubbing alcohol before shooting, and just like anything you paint, use light coats until you get to where you want it. It turned out great. I did chip off the paint on a trip (at the bottom of the grip), but that was super easy to fix... light sanding and re-shoot, and it turns out just as good as new.
@@jasonlynch9979 Wonderful, thank you for the great tips here. Cheers!

Problem with E-bikes is they are too slow. Should be able to go 40 mph to keep up with traffic for safety reasons. Electric unicycles are way safer. More fun as well. Loved my Stromer But 28 mph is too slow.
I am sure they are but I am 100% positive I would break my ass 😂
Great video. You could also consider adding the Leica finger loop to the handgrip. That will totally lock it into your hand, almost impossible to accidentally drop, or someone to snatch it from your hand.

Congratulations and thank you for watching ... I am glad this helped. Enjoy your new camera.
Thanks Jason - Yes, an excellent video.. I purchased a Q3 earlier in the year, so i was very interested in your choice of accessories.. I downloaded the Leica App, this gives a secondary back up for the images, and also the geo location of where you shot them... It does increase the battery load, so that something to consider, but very useful on days out to record where the photos were taken... Best regards from south west England..
Thank you John and Greetings from Vegas ! .. Yes the Leica App is fantastic.. That was a concirn of mine about the camera not having GPS in body.. but that quickly resolved itself with the Leica App. Thanks for watching.
Buying a Leica to start learning to take pictures is gross.....
That is your opinion, that I do not subscrbe to at all. 1. You do not have to buy multiple lenses, 2. The picture quality is fantastic, 3. The footprint of the camera is small and portable. 4. The menu system is super simplistic yet extremely capable. 5. The build quality is extremely good. 6. Great value for money given items 1-5.

Go take some 'pictures'... Owning a Q3 and just talking nonsense...... Probably not what anybody expected when typing Leica Q3 in the 'search bar'..... 😃
Hi Arno.. Apperently you have a lot to say, as you are also making negative comments on my other Leica video. The great thing about RUclips is you dont have to watch my content. The titles of my videos are super clear. My goal is to help people from a novace perspective. @@jasonlynch9979 I am not out to troll your account. I just point out that your vid is totally BS.... Why do a vid like this? For novices? As if accessories are more important than actually share your thought on what this camera can do?
Arno. First off if you are not trolling then I appologize. But your way of providing constructive feedback also falls within the catagory of 100% unadultrated pure BS. :) First off this video is titled clearly that I would be reviewing accessories. So to expect something different is odd. However, to your point I will be doing another video about the camera itself and my experience learning with it to include image quality. I am not a RUclipsr and I am not a photographer. The camera as a great tool with an idiot using it.. so I am learning from my mistakes. The content I make is about cycling with a specific type of ebike. I did an unboxing video as a spur of the moment of the Leica Q3 because I thought the experience was different and people seemed to take an interest to it.. This video is performing similarly so there are people interested in the topic.. I do youtube as a hobby so I would gladly make another Q3 video going into some of the cool features and quality.. If there is something of specific interest I would be glad to include it.

Hi and thanks for your 1year review. i see a lot of negative comments on ST7 being over-torqued resulting in its motor shutting down prematurely due to overheating e.g. if using the Sport mode for too long or if pedaling too long uphill on steep hills. Question: have you or has any ST7 owner here experienced the ST7's motor shutting down prematurely due to overheating e.g. using the Sport mode or pedaling too long uphills? would love ST7 owner's POV on this! Thanks again!
@@rptempmail1 Hi.. I have never had a motor “shut down” however it is 100% true that sport mode will default to assist level 3 if it gets over heated. You are also correct that uphill (when you need the assist level most) is when this is most likely to occur. Outside temperature also is a consideration . If it is hot outside (above 85F) the time in sport mode is shorter than below 80F. Keep in mind all other assist modes will still work. Once the motor cools down for example you can once again use sport mode.. Example.. you get the warning on the OMNI that sport mode is no longer available you can continue to ride.. and then in 5min or so you can go back into sport.
@@jasonlynch9979 Many thanks and I appreciate your prompt response!

I was watching your video and couldn't help but think that it must be nice not having to worry about chipmunks or squirrels running into your path. I don't ride faster than 20 mph, and even then, the trails that are used where I live are inhabited by the small creatures that I have to be careful about. Not only am I worried about running them over for their own sake, but it is also a danger to the bike and myself. It must be nice not having to worry about that issue on your path. The only potential threat like mine I can think of would be snakes in your case?
Hi Lex..I grew up in areas where there were a lot of squirrels…true there are none out here …where are you located?
