Personally, I know that Myles is a hell of a guitarist (far too underestimated, to be honest), but I kinda like his more intimate stuff, where we can not only hear his voice and his guitar, but also his heart and soul. That’s why I recon his first solo record as one of the best he’s ever released all through his career. Nevertheless, still an amazing musician!! Cheers from Brazil 🇧🇷🇧🇷

I’m always looking for someone to release a Christian concept album and here it is. I’ll be digesting this album for decades. Christian concept albums are hard to come by, so this is a treasure. The news, life and the Bible lend themselves perfectly to the format; there’s so much to mine from. I’m looking for more concept albums, what are some of the best? Christian AND secular? Operation:Mindcrime is the standard and my favorite non-Christian concept LP. Melodic, powerful songs with hooks and a story you can actually follow. For me, it beats Pink Floyd and Dream Theater. I have a feeling I just found another in The Crucible by Harpazo to put alongside Queensryche. Can’t wait to put the headphones on and fully digest it. Does anyone have some suggestions for other stellar concept albums, Christian or otherwise? Good job with the channel and thanks for bringing this band into the know. God bless and Metal on!

My copy of When We Were Kings arrived a couple weeks ago and I must have listened to it 40 times by now ( on third listen tonight). I also pulled all the other CDs and listed to them a number of times. It is all great music, but I do think they really hit it out of the park on WWWKs. I have to say there is no other Stryper album that I have kept listening to over and over, just can't get enough off it. Awesome guitar through and through!

I love the last 5 albums more than the early ones. I saw an interview with Michael Sweet where he talked about dropping down a key, which in my opinion makes his voice richer and more full, so to me, I think his voice is better now than ever. I have listened to When We Were Kings several times so far and it is awesome.

I worked with Andy prior to him joining Duran Duran. We toured Germany in our band Action. He was a gifted player with a great belief in himself. We even opened a bar together close to his home town in Whitley Bay. Nice guy with huge ambition.

I've only seen Stryper once on the 'To Hell with the Devil' tour in 86-87 and it was awesome. Hurricane opened. I tuned out on 'Against the Law' and back in at 'Reborn'. Glad they're still making music.

In the Bible Satan and Jesus don't mix. Honestly just saying. If a Satanist likes the music I would say either they are not really a Satanist or the message in the music has no power... I like their music just wish they were a little more careful what they say and portray as Christians. These are the last days. Be careful not to be deceived.

Thanks MGM for this interview. I've watched the band growing for a decade now and it's neat to hear from their perspective about their growth. They put on a damn good show every time I have seen them. I was able to thank them during the Spirits tour for their work; how beneficial it is for mental health and trauma because their social media manager gave me a VIP pass. Mark is the one that directs that core essence of Nothing More. He's utterly kind yet badass. Carnal had the exact message I need in this weird ass place in my life. Thank you Nothing More for your work.

I saw Dirty Heads at Deluna Fest on Pensacola Beach. I really enjoyed them. And I LOVE Black Stone Cherry. They are one of my all time favorite bands and live acts.

It's interesting how things developed and how Mike Portnoy coming back must have felt. I get the sense its like a coming home of sorts. As great as Mangini is, he is always the replacement, had to be deferential to the music, instead of a full time co creator like Mike Portnoy is, and I am sure the band was used to that role and there was no way Mangini could be expected to replace that part of it. I am sure Portnoy has a different role and understands what the band is doing having been with Petrucci and Myung for so long that it gives his own input naturally more gravitas, its just the consequence of longevity and fitting in as they did for so long and Mangini would always be an adjustment from that. I think Mangini must have had more input as time went on, but it was never with the same understanding of the band dynamics that Portnoy had, thats just the nature of time and the relationships. Overall, its great to see Portnoy back where he belongs and I am sure it will work out great for the band.

Paul Stanley definitely puts his stamp on cover bands because he made KISS a cover band by taking at least one member who was in a cover band and translating that to his show. Mr. Speed is by far the best one out there. No one has topped Rich for the Paul Stanley role. He sings well and really performs and looks very much like him. I'm sure that irritates Mr. Stanley. LOL. Rock on Rich!
