CONSTRUCTION 101 is an educationally based RUclips channel, developed to teach you to DIY (do it yourself). The difference is, that we don't expect you to have all the tools, materials, and techniques at your disposal. So, we take it upon ourselves to break down, not only what tool to use, but how and why you should use it... this applies to materials as well. Thanks for checking out our channe...
My sprayer won't stop spraying even when I'm not touching the trigger and it does it when the trigger has been removed and I can not figure out why? Would you have any idea what's going on?
Where did you get your caster wheels?
Just bought mine and it barely even sprays just a tiny small circle
I still haven’t figured out how the door knob is is set up
I was coming here to say the same thing. How does the door knob attach and tie into the book and door catch?
Wait, does the knob literally just have a hole drilled in the side of the case... and then tilts the back of the book forward enough to pull on the cable to open the door?
Thanks for showing us your technique. Thorough, clear and precise. How you would go about cleaning the outside from overspray?
For the outside of the gun, I would clean/brush it off immediately before it dries too much. I know that it will inevitably be partially dry, but the sooner you clean it the easier it will be. You can also take a nonabrasive tool to 'scrape' the outside, like a popsicle stick or plastic putty knife. Test an area to make sure it does not mar the surface. There is also the magic eraser, although this is a mild abrasive, it'll work.
@@Construction101 Thanks for your reply.
These things are a Bitch to clean.
I would like to add, when storing it make sure the back end with the motor is separated from the business end of the gun or what left over moisture in the sprayer will eventually rust out the electrical components in the back.
Took you longer to clean it than to do the actual job.
That's typical of painting. I describe painting as 85% prep and clean-up, 10% technique, and 5% actually applying paint. I painted the exterior of my house with a paint sprayer, it took about 8hrs to do the job...6 of those hours were masking off EVERYTHING.
Hi, mine is leaking from the trigger, any recommendations? Thanks for the video.
This sounds like it could be one of multiple issues: you may have some build up inside the downtube, your paint is not the right consistency (too thin or too thick), or you could have a worn out seal in the trigger assembly or nozzle area. Be sure to thoroughly clean the gun after each use to prevent build-up.
Very helpful video. Thank you for posting 🙂
OMG
Good video till then
Maybe 10 seconds of actual speed of painting
Totally appreciate you for this video! Thank you 🙏🏾
How are you liking this spray gun after 1 year
I don't use it too often, but it's still holding up. The one thing I don't like about it, is that it sprays such a fine mist, that the paint particles blow all over if you're in a windy or non-ventilated area. Make sure the surrounding areas are covered, so as to not get overspray on anything.
Did you have to thin out the paint when using this sprayer ?
Yes. This is primarily a stain and sealer sprayer. You need to dilute the paint in order to use it properly. Check out the video on how to paint with the Wagner spray gun... it shows how to dilute.
Hi I want to use BEHR premium interior cabinet & trim enamel with the spray fun but the paint says not to thin. Will it still work on the machine or should I still thin it out? Also do you know if this paint is water based? Sorry kinda a newbie at DIY. Thanks for any help you can offer.
The Wagner Double Duty Control Spray gun is designed to be used with thin bodied materials. The Behr Enamel would not be a good fit for this gun. Wagner makes other models that are made for thicker paints. The enamel should not be thinned as it is formulated to be self leveling and dry to create a hard shell. Cabinet and Trim Paint can be sprayed using an airless sprayer with a .013-.015" tip. Do not thin.
@@Construction101 thank you so much. This is helpful.
@@Construction101 what is the paint you used for your bookcase
@@echavez397 I used Behr Premium Plus Ultra (now just called Ultra), Paint and Primer in one, Semi-gloss... diluted quite a bit for use with this gun.
@@Construction101 thanks. How are you finding it holding up on the bookshelf. Would you recommend it?
Very informative, thanks!
After i clean, i put everything back together but then nothing comes out. Only air. Am i doing it right?
Here's some troubleshooting tips for your issue with the spray gun: 1: The spray tip itself is set in a default position. It’s possible you have this on clean instead of spray. If that’s the case, no paint will come out when you try to use the sprayer. 2: Spray gun filters get dirty and you will have to clean these. With a wrench, you should be able to remove the spray gun filter to clean it. Use an oil-based or mineral-based cleaner, soap, and warm water.

Free information.

Answered all my questions
Thanks for the video . This is just what im what im fixen to do .
LESS viscosity.
Thanks for the correction, I had my definition backwards.
what are the measurements of the book case and what kind of wood did you use?
The door opening had a RO of 30" x 82". The jamb was 5/8" around the opening, leaving 28-3/4" wide. So the bookshelf was 28" x 80-1/2". The wood that was used was birch hardwood plywood 3/4". The important part, structurally, is to dado groove the shelf supports and edges, so the bookshelf is sturdy.
