Huey Lewis and the news, Aretha, Sting had great songs in 1985...
No Thanks 💯
The record industry is full of talentless , soulless morons....stay out of the artists way....
The Aussie decade! Batteries by Jocko! Oy! Who the hell is Jocko? No one in the States knew! But hey, we got Mel, Men at Work, Paul Hogan; let's just throw another Aussie on the barbie! 😅
As a kid, I had KICK on cassette. I wore out the tape from playing it so much. That was a good pop album.
Might be my #1 album.
Don't forget "Suicide blond" was a massive hit with both radio and video play right before kick was released.
We got weird right along with them!
I hear that song and suddenly I'm a teenager again. Loved REM.
I saw a interview with Billy Vera. He was talking about the popularity of a song that he had recorded years earlier. But it became popular after it was on the TV show "Family Ties".
Just remember, Fam; ALWAYS use a "Spotter".
I worked an audio company in Vancouver in the late 90's. I remember getting a late night call from Armoury Studio. (we all took turns taking the after-hours calls) The band in the studio was not happy with some digital recording being done and required 8 rolls of Ampex 499 2" tape. I went to the store and grabbed the product. I buzzed into studio and came face to face with MH, who helped me unload my car and gave me $100 cash for a tip, a beer and a big hug! A few months later, The studio called me. I received 2 tickets to the INXS show in Vancouver and got to say hello again. He passed 2 months later.
There was actual good music in the 80’s too. It didn’t all suck like this crap
1985 WAS A BAD YEAR
I still have my KICK cd❤❤❤❤❤
YES, INXS, and Phil Collins FTW!
This is one of my jams! 🔥 then, still 🔥 in 2025!
Yes was awesome, both versions
Kick is a masterpiece! It was also the first tape I bought with my own money!
First CD I ever bought.
Nothing about them was stupid.
AND THE ENTIRE ALBUM KICKED ASS. SHOWS PRODUCERS ARE IDIOTS.
What commercial, bubble gum music 🤢
I think Prince ended Sheena Easton's career
Crap. Their best was Shabooh Shoobah without a doubt.
Great album. Changed nothing.
I thought 1987 was Harvey Weinstein
Not my top 100.
Thank goodness for INXS 😂❤ Best song on the list. Land Down Under is my second favorite. That was Top 40. Fortunately lots of amazing underground alternative music was out there to be discovered. ❤
Wish we never lost him. Where would they be today. Sad
Music Exec's get it Wrong more than they get it right. . . .
Tuff Aussie rock⚡️
Dear God 🙄thanks for reminding me, I forgot just how horrible the music was back then 🤮🤯
The keyboardist's hat looks like a UFO
Yep, they sucked…
There's definitely a change in their musical style between Listen Like Thieves and Kick. I honestly like their earlier work better, but Kick is what made them world famous, and is pretty good in its own right.
RIP Michael, you will always be my number front man.
Billy Squire would have been twice as big as he was if he had simply chosen a different name or just went by a band name. 'Billy Squire' is just weak and stupid sounding although his music was as good as any other famous group.
Whatever!! You'll literally NEVER hear an Inks song on the air anywhere in the world ever
Shabooh Shoobah is light years better than Kick
You will always be remembered.
ONJ OMG
Suspicious! And I vote for Ashes to Ashes. The one that mattered.
Who wrote the songs?
She walked on all her so called friends … anything for fame
Why was it on the Greatest Hits then?
All of this is absolute and complete bullshit. No one thought it sounded "weird". It was funky. Atlantic thought it was TOO funky, and that it wouldn't get it played rock radio stations, and that the music was more suited to black radio. So this channel just called black music "weird". Good job.
😳🤔 I was 13 Years Old! I'm Black! This Song Waaas Soooo Smooth!👌🏾😌 1987 I Thought These Guys Were Brothaas ,when I first heard it! FN Cool Ass Song We loved It!💢💯💢. 🔥❤️🔥🔥. ✊🏾🧑🏿🚒
TIL how to pronouncE INXS
INXS saving the decade. Again.
