Far cry from a PT Boat. Great someone did a restore on this piece of history but they should have put PT boats into the rivers of Nam. At least you had some room to sleep on one.
Sanitys Void a PT boat would have run aground and had trouble making turns in the narrow rivers and canals. Plus it's torpedos would be useless. The PBR is actually more heavily armed than a PT boat. It is purpose-built for riverine use.
@@mechanshican Well ok. But you should know I was suggesting the platform not the weapons of a PT boat. They also had larger boats on the river for the larger waterways.
@@SanitysVoid They used an Aluminum patrol boat based on a crew boat 50 ft. long called a PCF - aka "Swift Boat". They did use a few "Nasty" class PT boats - but only off shore. PT boats would have never had enough room to maneuver and would never be able to utilize their speed potential - which is one of their greatest assets. Where Is This Being Filmed? -Or Is This All A.I. ? -Because If It's The Latter, And You're Trying To Recreate Vietnam, Then You Got The Foliage Wrong!
Filmed in Virginia and North Carolina, so yeah, the foliage is different from VN.

Repowered with conventional shaft/propellers.

Super Film , super Fahrbild !!
Nice restoration. I have a beef with the Vietnamese flag flying higher than the US flag. Not correct protocol

Everyone wants a brand-new boat with fancy extras- give me a flat-green tub with 360hp and a lot of of American steel on it.
