I saw this entire lecture. The main point I got was most of the textual variances are spelling differences. The 666 to 616 isn't Evan a main point. The main point was out of all the textual variances there are ZERO of them change the main beliefs systems and especially ZERO of them change the diety of Christ. Sam is wrong here, and he's not reading Matthew 21 correctly. Folks who agree with covenant theology say that when Jesus says "the Kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a nation bearing the fruits of it." they think he's talking about ALL of Israel and how the Kingdom will be moved onto the Church... There's a problem with that - before that statement, Jesus asks the question - "Therefore, when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those vinedressers?”... in the parable, the VINEYARD is Israel, the VINEDRESSERS are the Jewish Leaders. v43 is a direct statement regarding the Vinedressers of the parables, AKA the Jewish Leaders. Want proof? Sam forgets to tell the reader to read UNTIL THE END OF THE CHAPTER... v45-46 says - "45 Now when the chief priests and Pharisees heard His parables, they perceived that He was speaking of them. 46 But when they sought to lay hands on Him, they feared the multitudes, because they took Him for a prophet." This is Jesus telling the religious leaders that if they continued their rejection of God and His Messiah, they could expect that God would pass the leadership of His work on earth to others.
