I simply positioned the ILANO fans better. These tests were done a few weeks ago. I'm playing dragon age the veilguard and the temperature is even lower. And I want to point out that I'm not undervolting the CPU.

RUclips is deleting my comment regarding a microcode update of this CPU which prevents sudden current demand spike. That will prevent detoriation of CPU. Since ACER has not released it in BIOS update, that's our only method. I have updated it, just to be sure.. You can also update it if you want peace of mind.. Try googling " How To Update Your Microcode for Intel HX 13/14th Gen. CPUs Laptops/Mobile Easily" . That's link of techpowerup forum. They have explained the process, its very simple. I had shared link of the forum here, but youtube is deleting my comment again and again..

​@@LOLETTOGAMESIts not about undervolting etc. I think there's some problem in power distribution at bios level maybe. Installation of drivers using driver booster etc leads to such issues. Have you done that? Your laptops CPU power draw is higher, which shouldn't happen. I have checked your previous videos as well, that GPU hardly crosses 150 watts.. It stays below that mostly.. So that leads to improper use of power.

@@mayanksingh12 yes, I used the driver booster and I always update the drivers from the nvidia control panel.

​@@LOLETTOGAMES That's the problem. That driver booster is shit. It installs shitty driver which fucks up the voltage balance. Now only way to reset is to reinstall the OS & original official drivers only.

it's colder now. In summer here we are always above 40 degrees.

the cooling system of this laptop is not that great, in fact. MSI ones are much better.

​@@LOLETTOGAMES Yeah. Have you tried maybe changing the liquid metal? Some people have reported that liquid metal used in this particular laptop isn't great & Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut Extreme gives very good results instead. So maybe you can try that if you are well equipped to do that.

​@@LOLETTOGAMESI do agree about MSI ones. I have one MSI laptop with RTX 3070 GPU. It remains very silent & cool unless playing game. But this CPU has some definite problem that it heats up so much even in other laptops.

with NVIDIA app. you can record up to 8K

with undervoltage you get a few degrees less, but not necessarily an improvement in performance. With the ILANO fan you still get the same WATTS for the video card as you would with the undervolt.

@@mayanksingh12 It is true. It heats up a lot. But it never goes into thermal throttling. I put fans under the laptop and it's cooler.

@LOLETTOGAMES it's not smooth. The graphics are above and beyond but you can see every single frame. I'm sure if you tamper with the settings you can get smoother gameplay, but this ain't it. For $2k-$3k range this is a rip off.

@@LOLETTOGAMES Well, I'll try it on a 4k monitor to test. Before I had a notebook with the RTX 4090 and it was at 140W, 150W. I found it strange that the 4080 was at 90w most of the time.

It is a game that requires more CPU than other games. However in general, the cooling system of the predator helios 18 is not among the best. I recommend putting IETS GT500 (cooling fan)

this laptop doesn't have great cooling, however it is possible to put IETS GT 500 to improve the temperatures a lot :)
