the gloves are to reduce pain and stiffness. look up compression gloves. they help a lot with arthritis

The bosses shown, have been changed multiple times. Most recent yesterday. I've had to analyze spell queuing in this dungeon multiple times now.

That's actually 11.x bug, it's not supposed to do that, I just sort of got used to it. It's supposed to behave the way it always did and respect resolution scale. instead when I go into windowed mode it just adds pixels on left and right. it's not stretching image at least, it just changes resolution to match the odd non standard resolution. i do know it's kinda triggered by using UIScale at a fixed number, and then toggling between full screen and windowed mode using "command M". in fact you can probably trigger it by going into full screen, setting resolution to "default" then hitting command M.

That's fair, but still gotta search. :P

In the streamers defence why should you go an splash out on another monitor just to look up something. Blizzard is lazy and should put map icons on themselves!!!

Possibly, but vanilla's issues were more along the lines that back then most bosses weren't designed with consistency in mind. Being that bosses had much fewer mechanics, they tended to lean on what mechanics bosses did have to have a MUCH larger cooldown variance. so instead of 8 abilities that happen ever x seconds consistently (minus spell queuing). it'd be like 1-3 that can happen every 18 to 50 seconds. Take for example twin emps. their teleport is every 28-45 seconds or something wildly variant. users constantly get mad at me when the teleport timer is "wrong" but that's just how it was designed. One pull they might teleport at 28, 33, 31, 29, 30 and next do something like 44, 29, 35, 41, 28 and that's just how bosses were made back then.

Mods for dungeons are a separate download from a back called DBM - Dungeons, Events, & Delves. make sure you grab that separate download to get dungeons working.

already helps dbm. working on getting it to help others. just added a lot of callbacks so other addons can use it easily once they support it

yeah it doesn't fix all of them just some of them. Some things are known for causing those taints such as certain macro addons or addons that modify objectives frame. Elvui for example is good at tainting objectives frame so then when you us a quest item taint is propagated to rest of UI fairly quickly.

i wish it were that easy. they do have an api for build in timers as long as wrath. just never used it.

Thanks. Yeah I wanted to try and do it on category for every type of player. I see other videos that will be like "these are best addons" and they're all raid mods. But note very one raids. I wanted to consider the raider sure, but i also wanted to consider the leveler, the gold maker, the collector. My big miss on this video is not really considering the altoholic and narcissist, it shoulda made this list. altoholic is kinda the combination of leveler and collector in one. :D

at time i recorded video like every pet addon was broken. i ended up not able to do that section at all. pvp i just had no insight since its one activity o refuse to do

@@CuddleUTube I can understand that. I think like most expansions TWW will have some good and some bad. I already see that M+ is kinda going in wrong direction on some things (and right in others). I think Season 1 will be a shitshow, but it'll be interesting to see it play out regardless and hopefully they learn to stop telling us how to play the game and just make good content.

release is best time of expansion for me. after that yeah it gets repetitive and i think it’s downhill

interesting. i’ll check that. i know i’ve studied issue for many years. but didn’t think maybe the tool studying it exacerbated it. i would think gc in general would be problematic though even at reduced interval. i’ll have to do more testing.

@@mysticalos i never really noticed to be honest, but i did clear away a lot of redundant addons & weakauras like you said and now at 500mb. game runs way more smooth now so thank you! :) most of it comes from weakauras, details, method raid tools, etc that i use for raiding.

yeah some are easy to fix if actual returns of api didn't change.

When it comes to libraries, only one one version of it is loaded. otherwise, people would have ace3 loaded 20x. I'm not sure taintless helps classic but maybe? worth a try. if all you need is price checks, TSM may be overkill and something like auctionator may make more sense. TSM is more for AH power users/goldmakers i feel.

@@mysticalos You're right about TSM, I just meant that even when I am not actively using the AH I still like a lot of the features it provides, especially since the prices update every ~2 hours automatically from the desktop app and I don't have to scan the AH, I do still use it when I am doing stuff on the AH. Maybe there is another alternative I can keep on when I am in instanced content. And it seems like you may be right about taintless for classic, it doesn't seem like it is officially supported but maybe it still works, that's a shame.

Yeah i hope that shows value of not running too much, or choosing wisely what's important vs what isn't. I too often would see addon overload on systems and then people have super long loading screens, tons of stuttering and frame drops that just shouldn't be. but for my video i wanted to outline that the effects can also be subtle.

I don't agree with his performance part at all. My addons are over 500MB and I do not get any of this 10 second hitching at all, my game is entirely hitchless despite being 500% what he considers the "absolute max" to avoid it.

technically you just do that making only rl have assist. but i see what you’re saying. can probably add a checkbox that says “except raid leader”

@@mysticalos Yeah that's how we solved it, sometimes you do still want other players to have assist because they do things during the fight, I'll admit it's not a very frequent use-case. I initially assumed that the Raid Leader controls would override everyone else's DBM settings except their own. In my mind, it makes the most sense to use the RL global override to disable other players' settings because you are already in control of your own settings. For example, at 4:35 I could choose to disable my own icon marking, and then at 11:35 I could disable everyone else's icon marking. Then if I later wanted icon marking back, I could renable it for myself whilst keeping it disabled for the raid. But yeah I agree, it's pretty easy to remove assist from everyone else, I guess I just figured we don't need a global override that disables everyone (including my own) settings, since there are already overrides/options to disable my own settings?

i agree. i def think base game has a long way to go. dragonflght was progress but a lot more needs to be done. you can even hear it in my town a bit when i question why portals aren’t on map without handynotes. but when i look back 5 years i def need way less now than i did then.

a lot of it yes. apparently in 11.0 you can search for any tooltip text. so haste example base game now. search plus has a handful of niche searches that still only it has but for most part it’s no longer in a must have category

That's a UI taint error, that's part of what Taintless helps solve but also just process of elimination to find cause (although cause is not usually mods fault but rather an addon using a feature such as a drop down that was previously used in a secure frame). You may want to check out my other cent video about addons and at very least get Taintless, bugsack and buggrabber to diagnose it.

far as i know notaint stopped getting updates. i used it ages ago when it prevented taint. maybe its a diff project now i wonder taintless prevents some taints but not all. but some better than none

i have 64gb. its not something related to limited memory or even system spec. although it definitely helps because stutter would be worse with slower memory or virtual memory. it’s just the size of the garbage collect blizzard does. my example also had raider io and ah. also i’ve seen players not even notice stutter til they look for it. depends how sensitive you are to it. i’d be curious what your addon memory is at as well as frame rate. my testing showed stutter id also reduced at higher frame rates due to fact addon code runs on frame update code (which means the garbage collect might actually complete faster). i purposely lock at 60 though for streams and videos

@@mysticalos My FPS is limited to 90 and it usually stays there. My total addon memory is currently at 638MB with AllTheThings eating 494MB of that with it's window closed. Walking around in the Azure Span and switching AllTheThings on and off again I noticed something interesting though. The game starts to stutter when I hover over the red question mark on the bottom right to check addon memory and FPS. It runs smooth when I am not checking. And it runs smooth when I am checking while AllTheThings is off. Looks like the issue is with the function that calculates the addon memory. How that is this slow and how it even is allowed to have an effect on the gameengine eludes me though, with WoW in focus my system runs below 20% load and I have plenty of cores to execute threads on. Sometimes I would like to see the codebase of the hot mess I like to play. Edit: it is not the calculation of the memory either, I just checked and TitanPanel can display it, just runs smooth. What the heck is that puny frame in the corner doing that affects the game engine and more when more memory is in use?

@@rudolphriedel541 Likely performing a GC cycle to give you a count just after the heap has been collected. Otherwise the memory count would include dead objects. In principle, you should be able to do incremental GC on Lua, but I don't know if WOW does so.

@@Relativizor That this is a Garbage Collection is well possible - but this still would make this a crappy design - do a GC every second just in order to display slighty different values. Doing a GC once, if at all, would be enough.

@@rudolphriedel541 Yeah it just never occurred to me the issue would be actually be exacerbated by the broker that was designed to monitor performance, not cause issues with it. Plus as far as I knew it only performed GC when clicking on it (and that i knew about, if you click on it, it does a hard LONG GC that def hangs client for a solid 1-2 seconds). But as far as I knew only thing it was doing was showing memory in use and not affecting it in any way. But I guess it has kept me running a lean ship regardless. I disabled broker and ran testing and sure enough the every 10 second stutter vanished, but I did still find I still prefer lean addons for if nothing else MUCH shorter loading screens. I did try to edit text of video and short to explain the performance issue "MIGHT" affect users in certain conditions, but since I don't know full scope of WHAT that broker is doing yet I didn't narrow it down yet, merely that you might or might not get the issue.

micro stutters drove me nuts too. i discovered cause 5 years ago on classic because questie had high memory usage. showed them my findings and they actually reworked addon to reduce memory a ton using fancy compression. no more micro stutters. not every addon author willing to do that. some convinced memory doesn’t matter (and they’d be right when you don’t factor garbage collect blizzard does). but as i’ve proven. it most certainly does
