How to guide: coolstar.org/chromebook/windows-install.html#! It is in the description
No Listen carefully how Long did it Last with windows vs chrome os
@@1Love-starboss I used it for about 2 months
Ok but how is the windows battery vs chrome os battery
@@1Love-starboss battery is a lot shorter but you don't need a new battery. It is just Windows is more intensive
Any update on Coolstar? i cant access the website
I can still access the website. You can try going to the home page: coolstar.org/ Then click Chromebook the: Install Windows 10 or 11
I bought a netbook for about 20 euros. Its an Asus Eee Pc 1015PEM. It has one of the "better" atom cpus (n550 64 bit) and i put in 2gb of ram and an ssd. My os of choice was also windows 7 since it is still somewhat supported ( i mean apps and stuff ) and it gives me nostalgia. I installed chrome on it and tlauncher and i use it to this day as my secondary laptop. I even put a cracked copy of MS office 365:]. But for watching youtube at 480p Max you should (if using chrome) download H.264-ify which is a video decoder for youtube only that goes easier with these machines. I love old ass netbooks.
What is the name of web browsing ?
Hey the browser is called blueboxd Chromium legacy
Nice video. I have done a clean installation on an iMac 6.1 of mac os x lion and it happens to me like the samples in the video. In the about this mac section, when you click "more info..." the model/year does not appear in gray letters when before it did appear below Imac in bold. And in the screen section it comes out 21.9" when it should be 24". Why could it be? Thank you. Best regards. *btw as a browser I recommend Sealion, it has worked faster and more stable for me on more modern pages.
Thanks Very Much. I will look into it.
One of the best Linux distros for Linux beginners is Linux Mint. I'm already using it and very happy with it.
Probably switch to Linux maybe buy a mac as well.
for those who want to switch to linux....zorin OS or linux mint is the way to go and the "just works" kind of system... be prepared looking for alternatives for your go to apps though like adobe suite... most games work well now on linux except those with kernel level anti cheats like the ones form Riot Games....
when you not support israel, windows will be ransom, so i'll need stick to linux
I hate Windows 11
Just use windows 10 Enterprise LTSC, which would support until 2032
What are your options? Meh I'm just gonna keep using it.
I will continue with Windows 7 and Linux mint
@@lehamnjon2886 yeah mint is pretty good. Still kinda new to linux but it's working great for me so far on my old laptop.
dont care and use it normal
what if i dont want company sponsored spyware preinstalled onto windows 11
There are ways to at least minimize the amount of this crap, well at least on windows 10. I think some of them work on 11 possibly. Perfect if linux isn't a viable option for you (e.g need specific software, games, etc to run). -winaero tweaker (turn telemetry, ads, cortana, copilot off then reboot) -o&o shutup10 -windows debloater script from github -w10privacy If you're a huge galaxy brain power user, many of these can be disabled manually via regedit, services.msc, or gpedit.msc as well.
Your Computer will not Implode the picosecond Microsoft pulls the plug, it willl implode when more and more exploits are being found, only very critical ones (ex : Blueview for Windows XP) will be patched
What are your options? Probably the same as mine. I'm still using Win7, by the way. This is to say, 1) ignore the hype and fearmongering, and keep using your OS of choice with a decent level of protection and common sense, 2) Upgrade to the latest privacy-smashing data-thieving OS, or 3) Switch to Linux. Fairly simple.
Linux
Yea, the only real option is Linux at this point.
does this mean I won't have to deal with windows forcing half baked updates down my throat anymore?
Dreamer
LINUX, tpm 2.0 cards, (a 3rd party patching exploits with in scripts)read one article of it but can't find it anymore. otherwise stubborn users won't leave 10 like thoguhs on 98,xp,7.
Great video just start making more of your know content.
That's the plan!
When I switched to Winows 3.11 from DOS. That was a huge learning curve at least for me. Linux will probably be the same to some degree. We had a good run Microsoft, but I'm stopping at Windows 10. If you won't take care of your customers that have supported you for decades. We will go elsewhere. Plain and simple.
It's not like when October 2025 comes around, your computer will instantly implode into a mess of viruses and malware. It will be little things at first. Then it will be support for Windows 10 Office and Email products. Windows Defender will stop getting updates. But you should be able to keep using Windows 10 for several more years with any major issues. Or you can switch to Linux Mint and avoid all that. LibreOffice is nearly as good as Office 365, in my opinion. Thunderbird is better than Outlook in some ways. And Steam has had Proton (their own Wine wrapper) up and running for years, now. You can move your Windows Steam game library over to Linux and Steam will automatically choose all the proper settings to run them. I've run everything from Unreal Gold to Witcher 3 to Techtonica on Linux Steam with no issues. So what's keeping you on Windows?
Windows 10 is garbage OS good riddance
I still have a Windows 10 device that just cannot be "upgraded" to Windows 11. I'll just slap Linux or ChromeOS Flex (if I'm feeling curious) in it and call it a day.
Flex is a really situational and not very functional OS, just go standard Linux
Yeah, Flex is really just for breathing life into old laptops and PCs. At this point, even before Windows 10 goes out of support, I'd say switch to Linux, just not Ubuntu. Maybe Mint or Debian. Because Windows doesn't even have privacy anymore, especially with Copilot AI and Recall and all this stuff that nobody asked for, but Microsoft is still putting on.
Dual booting windows and linux is the best
Defender stiil gets updated.
Its just an anti virus, it cannot cover the backdoor of your os.
LINUX
Windows 11 with its AI will be able to see everything you've ever searched for going back to the beginning. NO THANKS!
the AI feature supposedly will be able to be disabled so you shouldn't have to use it. if it couldn't be disabled i would be kind of concerned.
Add me to the "change nothing" crowd below.
Every single version of Windows is a security risk. even a recently patched one....or they wouldn't need to keep patching it. Use an Anti Virus. install a comprehensive ad blocker like uBlock origin. and use best practices when downloading any files. It will be no different. I fully plan on using Windows 10 for 5-10 more years. I will be just fine. Don't be a moron and you will be fine too.
force MS to extend support. stop using Windows 11.
extensions should not last forever for an os that is like saying because i bought a car you owe me repairs for life for no cost its not going to happen. the updates can always be applied manually if they are that important to you but no Microsoft should not be updating their os forever that would just be silly and not make sense.
@@supersaiyaman11589 who said forever?
Windows 10 LTSC (Long Term Servicing Channel) that will be supported until 2032!
It is a great solution
Windows 11 is in no way better than Windows 10. I know because I'm currently running both.
Is more bloated, ad friendly and IA friendly
an option is to use windows 7, some distro's of Linux are getting good now too. and you can always stay on windows 10
I still personal use Windows 7 still. It is still the best Windows OS
@@lehamnjon2886 Hey mate I was after a bit of advice. After support ends in 2025 obviously you will still be able to operate W10. What will happen when support runs out mate? You can still operate Windows 10 I think or can you? Can you pls give me some advice etc? Look forward to hearding from you.
Microsoft won't give you free updates for Windows 10 anymore, if you pay for Windows 10 ESUs / or pirate it you can get way more updates by Microsoft
wene windows 10 stops being updates you can always apply the updates manually although most people wont have to worry about updates. i myself will keep running windows 10 until 2027 to 2030 until i decide to but another computer or steam stopes supporting the os.
im on windows 10 not going to 11 after october 2025
i also am on windows 10 i tried to upgrade to windows 11 it said my pc doesn't support windows 11 presumably because i don't have tpm 2.0. i have a amd 2700x. i will not be getting a new pc tell at lest 2027 to 2030 so i will be staying on windows 10 until then.
@@supersaiyaman11589 yea good for you
@@supersaiyaman11589 same
I have windows 10 on my offline PC it works fine. I don't need or want 11. MS is a monopoly and should be sued.
same here love 10 not going to 11 don´t need eather
Why people do not daily snapshots of their entire system, I will never understand. Or at least back up all your data everyday to a location not on your computer. Windows is actually MALWARE ! It would not surprise me if one day we all find out that the viruses and ransomware was actually created by MS in the first place. Fueling their own supply and demand.
Planned obsolesce. Typical Corporate Greed.
The OS lasted a decade tho.
@@Ordlnary_Gamer LOL. These Effing Apologists !
@@Ordlnary_Gamer With your mind set perhaps classic car enthusiasts should just toss those wonderful vehicles in the trash. As an analogy. Old computers should run on their original OS's for as long as the hardware will allow. AND like classic cars. Old OS's should be allowed to receive support from alternative sources who wanna pick up the security needs. BUT LIKE THE GUY SAID...CORPORATE GREED.
@@Ordlnary_Gamer My Samsung 8 is no longer supported and now I had to get a new phone because my banking apps say their apps soon will no longer work. ($1000.00). Now my computers have to be replaced. All my electronics work just fine and in perfect condition. CORPORATE GREED and costing me about 2k!
@@Ordlnary_Gamer And? it was supposed to be the "last" windows version, and dont get me started on the absurd requirments
Cool
