This is an unkind comment, ill-informed, and should not have been posted. Troy Peach is doing a live performance in a large venue, and such "antics" enrich the performative element of delivering the song, especially to the audience member sitting several hundred feet away from him. There is a long history of large gestures and interaction between singers in gospel music, and he is operating squarely within the tradition. This is not a Mozart vocal chamber group, or a performance of a subtle chorale. Gospel music depends upon delivery of personal testimony through the performance. Troy is a delightful addition to the group.

Buhleevitable Well it is not an "unkind comment". It is a fact. Obviously you feel that these "antics" enrich the performance. Well then good, I am glad you like to watch this silly stuff. Not everyone that loves good Southern Gospel Music agrees with the "stage" antics that go on. There are a lot of good groups and quartets out there that do not do these things on stage and they give a professional, solid performance. I like to look at and listen to the person that is singing the verse and delivering the message. I don't need someone, standing off to the side or behind the person, to mimic the words and make goofy faces! Maybe you need that though! Having Troy Peach mimic the words and make silly faces does not "enrich the performance" to me...it lessens the performance and the meaning! Now if you don't agree, that is fine. Obviously you and I have a vast difference of opinion of what is good and what is not! Also, I have the courage to post my name!

+Steve Pomeday it looks to me as if Troy Peach is just operating in the Spirit. I can feel the anointing when I hear this group sing. It's all about the message and the presence of the Holy Spirit. See Philippians 2: 14-15. "Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in this world." I think that sort of sums it up. I always go to God's word.....which is "TRUTH"......when responding to comments such as these. I think we need to take our own inventory and ask the Holy Spirit why we feel so compelled to criticize people who are doing their best to minister to others. These folks are part of us if we know Jesus and are following Him. We are all the "body" of Christ. These people are part of us. Why do we feel the need to type negative things about our own body? See 1 Corinthians 12: 19-27. It is too much for me type but it's GOD's response to all of these negative comments so please let's read it. Much love to my brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus.
