Rivers of Nihil - 'Clean' (Solo Cover) (TAB IN DESCRIPTION)
Rivers of Nihil released the first single from their new album yesterday, and it features a great solo by Brody Uttley, which I obviously had to transcribe straight away. I'm in drop-A here, so if you want to pay it in RoN's tuning then tune down three semitones and move everything up three frets. It feels like a lot of his influences (I'm guessing); lots of Gilmour, some Petrucci and a flash of Zakk Wylde at the end there. There's definitely plenty of Brody's style in there, particularly that intervallic lick towards the end.
Gear used was an Ibanez RG1527 (in drop-A), into a Kemper using Brody's 'A Home Solo' profile.

Amazing playing and clean. Was wondering how did you shift the key from the backing track up a half step from the recording to avoid having tune down?
Wonderful man, very nicely done. I've worked through a couple of Wake's songs from The Celticist tab book. I want to tackle this one for an event I'm playing next month. Can you make any other recommendations for artists that play in a similar DADGAD/Orkney Tuning style? Sweet Lowden, by the way. I'd love to get my hands on one. I recently got to play around with the same Larrivee that Wake uses. Great instrument, and a surprisingly humble guitar for a player on his level I think!
@@grantmartin6094 thanks man! Must revisit this tune, it’s tremendous fun to play. Tony McManus is top tier for me, along with Stephen. Stuart Ryan, John Tracey, Steve Baughman, Steve Cooney, Tim Edey are all fantastic, and some younger new players like Jordan Lively and Heather Cartwright are unreal too.

Thanks! It’s surprisingly simple to read through and play for pleasure, but was fiendishly tricky to get to a ‘performance standard’, which I’m not sure I did! Well worth having a look though, as there are some beautiful ideas, and very clever ‘guitary’ bits.
