    Given the light/pollen like properties of mustard algae, even after shocking/algaecide/floculant, vacuuming (even slowly), just sits it back up into the water again. Very difficult to thoroughly vacuum away to waste even after treating. So this is a FANTASTIC idea I will start adding to the process. GREAT suggestion! Thanks brotha! ☀️🙏☀️

    I just assumed yellow algae = dead algae and yeah it smashes up real fine when dead. Algaecide works well. Ducks are a big no no.

    Just use “yellow treat” algaecide. Works for me. Don’t believe the bad wrap of adding bromine. Keeps my pool algae free for at least 6 months depending how much it rains. Best stuff on the market.

    So you're basically saying use a white T-shirt cut it up into small pieces put it in your skimmer box and start brushing and cleaning the pool so that the algae will be caught up through the filter and go up into the skimmer box and then pull it out real fast and it'll be getting the stuff off the bottom cuz I have a cartridge filter and it's very frustrating I've been struggling badly and I almost want to sell the pool because of it I don't have a sand filter I have a cartridge filter so I can't keep doing it so if your way is better I'll do it your way do I just cut up a shirt and then put it in the skimmer box and let the filter bring everything from the pool to the T-shirt

    • @VASconstruction
      @VASconstruction 2 месяца назад

      You can also wrap a piece around the cartridge and rinse every hour or so.

    We had to put towels in our skimmer basket until no more yellow. Maybe about 6-10 Towels were looking like cigarette butts 😂 but it worked perfectly. Also shock, drop out flocculant, and vacuum to waste. And don’t forget to add a copper elbow pipe to skimmer basket.

    We got a 24 x 12 ft pool for the kids this year and man, what a job it is. Same thing, chemical balance is good, but the algae is driving me insane. And I need to avoid constantly taking water out, vacuuming to waste because we have well water, and putting new water in and shocking results in brown water due to the iron in well water. After just a few months up I have a serious love hate relationship with our pool

    mustard algae eats chlorine, so chlorinating the pool is feeding it, try lowering chlorine level and adding muriatic acid bring your balance down to a 6.8 to 7.0 ph note: remove latters any metals and no swimming for atleast a week this is a basic acid wash with out draining pool it does kill mustard algae black algae qnd all basic algae's most basic algae can be killed by brushing ans chlorine shock this has little effect on mustard algae
