Some context should have been added to this video because it seems so random without it. I'll do the best I can, based on my recollection but it was a long time ago. So I guess video aired on television of "Celine Dion" talking smack about American troops and spitting, but supposedly it was a look-a-like and not really Celine Dion so she made the people who aired it retract the video a few days later. I would assume that's also why it can't be found online either (I tried googling myself hoping to find it but couldn't) But during those few days between airing and retraction, apparently Eddie saw the footage and was rather offended. So that's how this rant came to be.

I've been a Pearl Jam fan since the day the Alive video debuted on MTV. But that's an asshole thing to say, and anyone who applauds that is an asshole too. Glad we live in a world some 20 years later that has far less tolerance for this kind of misogyny.

René A. was a marketing genius who found this talented gamine when she tap danced on local bar counters as an underaged elemenrtary school girl. She grew up in abject poverty and did what she was told to succeed by her family and manager. She took her sister with her as a personal hairdresser right to the top .She paid the price for fame and fortune though it seems redundant now that her muse and greatest love has passed away. She played her hand the best way she knew how without bringing her family to ruin. Céline made the language transition and developed a singing style most French Canadian stars only dream about .Beauty and brains sacrificed for commercial success. Don't blame her because that is what a big corporation will do given the chance. She is now very ill suffering in my hometown. Let us pray for her recovery and a change of heart to share the enormous wealth with those dying of Covid 19 in her beloved province.In the end, sacrifice for the common good will make her healthy, happy and grateful.

I've been all about fuck the police since I was 14 and 2 northeast division LA cops refused to leave thier cheeseburgers to help me after my house was broken into on york. I've trained myself to not even bother with 911 since. Police do not like dark people or broke people.

Imagine if Vedder said this nowadays? It would be headline news and he would be branded misogynist pig and cancelled. lol
