I saw this film on tv (cut, obviously) in 197X. Around that same time, I saw _True Grit,_ with the character Rooster Cogburn, and so, I naturally mixed them in my head. All that I remembered from either was the line "Bird doo doo". I'm pretty sure John Wayne says the same line as Stacy Keach. Oh, and Waldo was definitely in this film.
