Quick question - what makes this Soviet?
The device itself was made just before the collapse of the plant, the plant existed during the USSR and for several more years. Music workshop of the Zhitomir plant, an electrical device, Estradin. All this disappeared along with the USSR, but the value is that each device of this series sounds in its own way, this one has such an interesting sound, its brother made in 1991 has a completely different sound, more gentle, these are glitches of Soviet assembly. Such devices are no longer made. That's it, this is a long-gone plant. I put this device up for sale on reverb
@@SoundJourneysUA Ah got it, it said it was Soviet, so I assumed it was made in the Soviet era by Soviets, but then I saw 1996 and wondered if this was just a marketing ploy, or a mistake.
@@chrismathewsjr This factory existed here in Ukraine (until 1991 Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic)) even before 1996, these are just the latest versions, the same (Soviet) specialists worked on it, but then the factory or rather its division "Estradin" fell apart. I have another working Estradin RX1100, its production date is 11 1991, it sounds a little different, if you are interested in Soviet equipment, there are also even earlier versions, but they are now undergoing maintenance by a studio equipment specialist.

@SoundJourneysUA Yep, the musical scene needs to be reminded of the legacy of Bernie Edwards, David Margen, Ashton "Familyman" Barrett, Chuck Rainey, Freddie "Ready" Washington... great bass players, so talented, who never forgot that bass must be as much a support as it is a solo instrument.
