I enjoyed living in Tehran. Our house was just off Pasdaran Ave (called Saltanat Abad back then) on a street call Kuchi Kaj (I’m not sure I have the spelling correct for that). Wandering aimlessly around Tehran, I met a lot of friendly, hospitable people, and I loved the view of the Alborz Mountains from the roof of our house. It was a great experience.

Has incessant horn honking been outlawed in Tehran?

I wish the driving culture was better in Iran. The braver you are, the more right of way you have! The unfortunate part is that people always blame low quality vehicles as the only reason behind road accidents and fatalities.

یادش بخیر ساله 1386 از ایران رفتم و ساکن دولت اباد بودم. خیلی عوض شده من که 10 سالم بود و یادش بخیر پارک توسکا که الان شد اتوبان تا جای که شنیدم. خونمون هم خیلبونه نسترن بود کوچه اخلاص . قنادی کام بهترین شیری هارو داره و خیلی خوش حال شدم که دیدم هنوز هستش تو ویدیو. وای اشکم گرفت با این ویدیو ممنون از این کارت و زهمتت

Thank you for the beautiful video. Razi Park was built on the ruins of Tehran's notorious Red Light District. Today, you may see a beautiful park with a lively atmosphere, children happily playing, and others enjoying the natural beauty, but before 1979, this place was a haunting ground for women forced into prostitution. It was an area of old, dilapidated houses, separated from the rest of the city by walls, and was known as the Citadel (in Farsi, Ghal'eh), with only one entrance on its southern side. The women, mostly girls from small towns and villages, were sold to procurers who would drug or coerce them into signing papers that left them indebted for life. To repay these fabricated debts, they were forced into prostitution. While the scenery is now beautiful, beneath the surface lies the tragic history and buried hopes of thousands of women who were once stranded here.
