INTRODUCING KING’S OFFICIATING GROUP QUICK VIEW PRODUCTIONS
Two separate fist is double?
Very informative short…✔️
If the umpire is working alone, they should not turn their back to the players when they walk back to home plate to get into position unless they call time out. This umpire turned his back and did not call time. It's a live ball and a runner could decide to advance or a runner could step off the base and the pitcher could throw back at them while the umpire has their back turned away. Either keep your eye on the field as you walk back to the plate or call time out to go back. Especially when you are working alone.
First, I agree with the double call. The left hand pushed it a lot more than the right hand did hence the top spin on the ball. Should not be able to play that ball over the net. Second was just a lazy touch call. Could be much more crisp. The third call no way is that a lift if her hands are together. There wasn't any prolonged contact and the ball was popped.
Looked like double dribble to start
This was what i was coming to say
It’s a bounce pass arriving to the player not a dribble.
@@bandofmountains cool story bro… dribbles multiple times, picks it up. Then starts dribbling again before ever passing it.
@@Redmirage47that’s not what happened. You can “cool story me bro” all you want. What you think is a dribble, is a pass arriving to the player. It really doesn’t matter. Have a nice life.
@@bandofmountains that’s exactly what happens 🤡
How did he see that?
Thank You for the question and feel free to ask more questions of our content in the future or past posts. To answer your question the official saw the extended forearm in the back on the offensive rebounder back that caused the offensive rebounder to involuntarily move up 3 feet… that’s why that play was called on the defensive rebounder
@@KingsOfficiatingGroup that call should have come from the slot...weakside rebounding is the very reason the third official was added. The lead guessed. He was right in this case but he guessed. I would love to know your thoughts...
@@damonmccaskill5074 thanks again for the question…your absolutely right this call should of came from the slot.. in this case picking up plays that are major disadvantage to another team someone on the crew needs to get this play. To answer your second part of the question I’m sure you know as I when officials guess they are normally wrong. I nor you can say the official guess if they had the angle and got the play right…we can’t assume something if it’s there you agree?

First video…..Double Second video…sort of the right signal but a poor example of doing it correctly. Third video, absolutely nothing to call there. Fourth, and kill me if you want, I still despise seeing the players wearing masks even now.
Just saw a similar clip today, Reggie Miller pushed MJ to receive the inbound and drilled the three. No call. 😂😅😊
Nobody cares about woman’s basketball.
Very well done by this umpire. I will note you need to be aware of where the ball is hit and other potential situations. It appears there are no runners on and the ball is up the 3rd base side and not too far so getting out in front of the plate where he is right to avoid getting in the way of a potential throw. If this was a hit reaching fielders positions or to the OF then he should take an angle (with no runners on) to the right side of the mound and be up that far so he is set for the play at first and the potential for an overthrow allowing the runner to advance to second or even as far as third. We work around the mound here. In this video he is positioned right. If there is an overthrow h would then work the circle but just have to move a bit quicker to get into the next position.
1) no violation to me 2) yes that was the correct call 3) inconclusive, it is not possible to tell if the person caught the ball, because the pol is in the way.
first one is the most flagrant foul ive ever seen. Ball cant spin this way like that unless you touch it twice
Good call ref
What. An. Informative. Video.
Nice video, would like to see some more examples! Waiting on the next instructional, thanks!
It has not got bigger! You are a thief and what you have done to people is Garbage! Pay people what you owe them!!!!
Nice vid, and great explanation!
Nice. Promo video bro !
Would be the ref under the basket right ?
thanks for the question Liam... on this play it started from the center official area and ended up in the paint.. this play will be a center official play because of where it started from... if this play started from the trail official and ended up in the paint area going towards the lead it will be the leads call... thank you for the question and feel free to ask more questions on the plays on our channel
ouch I myself am a first year at the collegiate level and I know how tough it can be live as compared to when breaking down video but honestly this was no bueno, only the second gartered an actual whistle but I applaud the post as the only way to improve is to measure. on that second clip the one foul in this series, look to close down as you whistle being to assure no escalation. keep at it
Anthony thank you for your comment.. please feel free to watch more videos and give your feedback all is welcome.
👏🏿👏🏿
In our organization, we are trying to eliminate the concept of "automatic" calls. Playing the ball with an underhand, open palm is one of those. If the ball rebounds from the contact, it is not illegal. Even the video quality on this clip is not the best, I feel perhaps the referee is succumbing to this and not fully watching the contact.
Congrats, Big King!! 👊🏿🔥
Ballhandling calls are always subjective, but I have officiated everything from 4th grade AAU, to high school to D3 college matches and I would not have called that last lift at any of those levels. It seems in his explanation to the players that he called it because her arms weren't together, but the simple definition of a lift call is that it makes prolonged contact with a body part(s) while being played. Whether her arms were together, apart or only hit one of her hands/arms, the speed of which the ball came out shows that while maybe ugly, it wasn't prolonged contact. A common misconception I unfortunately see all the time while playing/coaching/officiating is that EVERY scramble ball played close to the net (or out of the net) in an underhand motion is automatically a lift. It all depends on the contact of the ball, not where the contact originates.
My team keeps telling me I do a lift whenever I do an underhand hit from at or below waist height, but I usually strongly disagree. I have read the FIVB rulebook, and it says nothing about a "lift" rule, only prolonged contact/ caught or thrown balls. I feel like it might be a misconception created by the hand signal itself looking similar to an underhand hit. I would disagree with the judge here, as it might be called a double hit if the hands hit one after the other, but the ball clearly rebounded off the hands rather than being thrown.
I was thinking they were calling the lift on first contact not the second. Her hands were in a position that a catch could be called.
Justin thank you for the question and feel free to comment or ask questions on any video we post. You are right a lift could have been called but its all up to the official if they keep it tight or loose or advantage or disadvantage how much he or she is willing to give on plays and keep it consistent.
On the catch violation, is that the same as a “lift” hand signal? The angle in which it shows the violation is kind of hard to read
HI, Delores Thank You for the great question.. A lift mechanic is the exact same mechanic to show a player performed a catch violation. At times you can exaggerate the motion by extending your arm further down like is what performed in the video.
Can you break down and take a closer look at the 4 hit violation on why it was called?
Delores thank you for the great question.. Yes, the. 4 hit violation.. At any time if one side hits and/or touches the ball 4 times that is not deemed a block. When you see this violation on the side that committed this violation award the point to the opposite team first then you hold up 4 fingers like we see in the video.
Great call on the block
Did you run with the ball on purpose on that charge call?
Happy thanksgiving 🦃🍽🍁 good morning 🌞 I ve never 👎 for the most part had a clear understanding regarding sports 🏀 or the work correction the career that u ve chosen but after seeing your u tube videos I m gaining a clearer understanding and finding a new found levels of appreciation and approach to what you maintain the efficiency and effectiveness of the players that u do referee
I appreciate that junior
Congrats on the channel, Big King!! 🏀
Thanks I appreciate it
Both plays were called correctly. Play #1 the offensive player was hit on the head as he finishes at the rim. The contact doesn’t effect the layup, however because the contact was to the head it should be penalized. Play #2 the offending player puts two hands in the back and extends his arms creating illegal contact with the rebounder.
Thank You for your comments.. First play in my judgement is correct call. It was contact to the head. I wonder do you or anyone else thinks this should of been upgraded to a flagrant because of the contact to the head? Second play two hands in the back and pushes the player in front. We as officials have to get these plays or contact will escalate.
No. Good call.
