Thank you Yovette 🩷. I like oils better also but the smell and long dry time made me switch to acrylics. I just have to use slow dry mediums so it has more open time for blending like oils.

@@PaintingFabulousFlorals When I switched to water mixable oils, I got the best of both worlds. Even now, if I use regular oils (which have practically no smell), I clean my brushes with soap and water. Works wonderful! No chemicals and no smell.

I think I will try the WM oils again. It is summer here (100’s) so they should dry within a few days if I paint thin. I would love to try your wild rose (in pink) using them. I have the Artisan WS oils. Do you use your regular Bob Ross brushes with these paints and still clean up with Masters soap and water?

@@PaintingFabulousFlorals Yes Jann, I do use Bob Ross brushes for these paintings, and use soap and water for cleanup. Just make sure you reshape them if they need it. I have done this for years, and my brushes are still in excellent shape. I think you will love the wmo once you get over the learning curve.

You mean draw out the pattern? Yes I do sometimes mostly when I can chalk it out on a dark background. This is my own pattern I am using.

Thank you ❤️❤️ when I first load the brush I dip in the gel and then blend it into the paint color I am using (pull a strip of paint out from the pile). Then when I reload use the strip of paint because it will have the gel already in it. You can add more gel in the brush if the paint strip needs more paint or you change colors. When all the colors are blocked in with the gel it will stay wet underneath for about 5 or 10 min even if you overlay more colors without the gel.

I used Plaid Folk Art Multi Surface acrylics and Donna Dewberry brushes.
