A lot of these cars weren't veru old at this time, I see a 76 monte carlo that would have only been 4 yrs old, imagine going to a derby now and seeing 2020 cars in it

grats on your keekee! Lucifer foil is certainly a good card to get graded- he's so popular lots of people want him, even in non-foil. Vaggie may be a good one to get graded too, i'd check prices on that. there is a guaranteed holo in each pack, first and second edition. Collectors spend lots of money on silly things sometimes- If i could justify (and afford) spending that much on one card i would lol. Last i looked Lucifer foil was like 400-600 on ebay, could be lower now that everyone's getting packs in. might get more if he's graded.

I grew up watching this on tv as a kid with my brothers and dad. One of my younger brothers and I always said we wanted to grow up and be derby drivers just like these guys, and we did. May not be as good as these guys were, but we are still following our dreams. Man this brings back so many memories for me.

That dude in the roundback keeps setting himself up to get full tracked in the back lol that’s the only weakness on stock roundbacks is front shots to the rear because of how they’re shaped anyway you would have thought he would have learned meanwhile that ford wagon has more rear end left than a roundback that’s absurd 😅

I was there as a kid, it was my birthday present! They did a lot of cool events back then. They had 2 dragsters hooked together once and did a pull off, they had the best truck and tractor pulls ever! Also Monster trucks as entertainment began in the Silverdome! I also seen many Lions games there. Even saw Metallica there for my first concert. It's sad that they tore it down!

This was a "can't miss" every Friday night. I was derbying at county fairs in those years, just seeing derbies on TV was awesome.

The people that let that 17 year old girl go out there for her first derby were idiots. These are the baddest cars at the time on a big track and the impact on the hit she took into the cement wall was scary. I've done demolition derbies for 20 plus years and I would be nervous to do a derby like this.

I had tickets to this derby and was extremely excited to go (compact car demolition derbies were a novelty back then plus I was a huge TNN Motor Madness fan) but contacted chicken pox. Watched this live from home instead. Gotta love all the mid-80s Chevy Cavaliers in this, a very common "clunker" in Buffalo at the time. I think everyone knew someone who had one including me. In this day and age its crazy how relatively young many of these cars still were at the time. Thanks for uploading this.

Way back when around 1982-85, the old tv20 KOFY channel 20 tv station did run an episode of a live demo derby called "Car Wars" and sponsored a 66-7 black Ford country squire wagon in one of the heats. I can't remember if it was Baylands raceway in Fremont, Ca, Watsonville, dirt track or San Jose Fairgrounds. It only aired once and I remember as a kid someone thought that a older silver Pontiac lemans ran in another heat and either the car or the track wall said Gotelli's speed shop on it just like the shop on El Camino near Daly City. This could be part of that derby but a great video! Thanks!
