Hi, just confirming. If there is a vertical deviation then prisms are placed on the same eye that the Maddox rod is on? But if there is horizontal deviation then the prisms are placed on the other eye to correct the deviation?
yesss trueee
Is it not the other way around?
great video!
Wow am impressive
Thank you Sir, I have a question I am hypermetrop astigmat and my numbers are quite big, so should I use distance pd or near pd? and my second question is that in some optic centers the machine measures 62 mm and for some of them it is 64mm so do this machine measures my near or distance pd?
Thank you for contacting the Optometry Guide!! The low or high refractive error should not be making any difference in your IPD. It is always advisable to use the distance PD for distance glasses unless the individual is presbyopic or having separate near vision problems. Most often the PD measurements vary from person to person measuring with the pupillometer. It will be always advisable to measure the reading thrice before predicting the final PD. Same Time a pupilometer can measure both distance and near PD with the change of its settings. But in regular practice near PD is not measured unless you need both distance and near power in your glasses like bifocal or progressive addition lenses.
Great 👍
Very well explained
