    I am a fresher in meche , really interested to be part of the college student formula team. I had some doubts about your setup. 1) Why did you go for a direct acting setup at the front , could have used rocker arm pushrod and mounted the rocker arm body on the front hoop ..(a good defence would be it messing up the airflow , but the driver is right after that , so it doesnt matter right ) ..i mean with rocker arm pushrod at the front , tuning motion rations would be easier right? 2) in the rear , why not going with longtitudinally mounted dampers ? i see you have space up front , so instead of mounting your damper body on the differential mounts , why not try mounting it to the engine mounts , (longtitudinal setup would decrease the MOI and I think facilitates running a u type ARB as in for lateral dampers would be more suited with z type ARB (Again the forces will be acting in different planes for a z type ) again idk the practicality of all these , but curious after i saw this setup.. anyways Good job guys , looking forward for more videos

    how come both control arms are mounted to the car on the same horizontal level as each other?

    • @MotownModels
      @MotownModels 3 месяца назад

      Kinematic points. If your control arms weren't on the same plane, they'd essentially be fighting each other when moving vertically

      They're not actually on the same plane. They both point at an "imaginary" axis called the roll center, where both sets of arms could be considered as rotating around. The imaginary roll center axis can be far out to the side of either the right or left of the cars vehicle centerline. Look up double wishbone roll center on Google images for a better explanation

    Hi, how did you manage your wiring from steering wheel up to your board? Did you use connectors throughout your quick release and spring clock or you’ve just used spring wire?

    What year is the car? I assume it’s an older one given the space frame and combustion engine (and the want to not get too public with your current car) They’re such cool little things though, park one up next to an F1 car and they look like toys

    Wait, can't the rear suspension also have the dampeners directly on, or is the force of the rear too big?

    • @Zireael1706
      @Zireael1706 9 месяцев назад

      Generally due to space constraints as the rear part has the drive shaft also. Also much more freedom to adjust parameters like motion ratio and all.

      @@user-hv9dd5pv3r And also for aero. For side pods to have a clear exit in some car designs.

    • @Racing_Fox413
      @Racing_Fox413 9 месяцев назад

      @@user-hv9dd5pv3rso the motion ratio can be adjusted by the rocker, you can change how much the damper moves for how much the wheel moves. It also takes a massive component out of the airflow and replaces it with a much aerodynamically cleaner pushrod

    Formula one should hire you for their videos. This is much better technical communcation than their official youtube channel. Universities use five paragraph essay format to rot our brains with too many words. You obviously didnt go to college. Which is a complement.
