I know Joe Twist and he is a good composer, but he's not from Melbourne and lives most of his time in LA writing film music. I'm wondering why a Melbourne composer couldn't have been commissioned to write something for the cathedral. It's like the opening of the Melbourne Concert Hall in 1982 - heaps of good performers here, but no, we had to bring over Diana Ross at vast expense and she wasn't that good and for a concert hall was a ridiculous choice anyway. The opening of Crown Casino in 1997 had a raft of international performers and few local performers. Meatloaf at the AFL Grand Final in 2011 - agreed by just about everybody that he was absolutely awful. When are we going to start using our own talent?

The only sovereign of the land on which Saint Paul's stands surely is the Queen? I am confused by the Archdeacon's welcome message. Also, where are the 'endeth's and 'beginneths'?

Such beautiful improvisation on percussion, especially the "Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest" (Matt 11.28), I had tears well up, for the sheer depth of peace, tranquility and sanctuary it evoked. Peace & Blessings to all.
