Trudy Kane

Trudy Kane was Principal Flute with the Metropolitan Opera 1976-2008 and is Associate Professor Emeritus at the Frost School of Music, University of Miami. She received both her BM and MM from the Juilliard School. Professor Kane loves working with her students and her favorite title is teacher. She was the 2015 recipient of the Phillip Frost award for excellence in teaching and scholarship.

Hello Mrs. Kane. Very nice sound. We have never met, but I was also a Baker student at Juilliard. Back in the day, did record labels approach artists to record an album or was it typically the artist who approached the labels with tracks already recorded? I've been in the business for decades but somehow I never get any straight answers regarding recordings as well as music management.
