Scaled Innovations

Добавлен 15 окт 2024
On this channel I show the methods I use to build automotive works of art in scale form. I build everything from factory stock to pro touring road cars. I use colors that are authentic to the manufacture and custom mixes. I also use photo-etched pieces as well as 3D print my own parts. I have been in the hobby for over thirty years and am always trying to learn new techniques and skills to enhance my model building experience. My goal is to encourage others to get into the hobby and inspire other builders to push the boundaries of their limits and learn new techniques.
Model Cars and Coffee #3
For the third installment of Model Cars and Coffee we introduce Project Beauty Queen. A pro touring 1957 Chevrolet BelAir.
This is the most detailed and involved model I have ever built. Join me as I post updates on this scaled automotive work of art through my installments of this series.

1964 Ford Fairlane Thunderbolt Pt. 2

This is the final video of the Fairlane Thunderbolt. It is a really nice minus the headers. My advice would be to either find an aftermarket set or make your own. Overall, it's a great looking kit and would definitely build it again.

Showing where I'm at with Project Fairlane. Doing an entire tour of what's on the bench and sneak peaks of upcoming projects. Bench really looks like a hot rod shop with different parts for random future projects. Also doing a mail call from our friends @oneteamgarage hooking us up with a sweet garage diorama! Also, Ed gave a 1941 Willys Pick up Gasser to the shop. To show our gratitude we're g...

This kit was chosen by my youngest daughter to build for her. Her favorite color is purple so that is what we are going to use. In this video I open the box and look at the contents inside and give my opinion on everything. Plus, I will show the 3D printed wheels and tires I'm going to use as well as the color. Hope you enjoy the video. I welcome any comments or questions.

A very brief introduction of me as a scale modeler and also about my channel. These are some of my favorite projects I have done. There will be several more awesome projects coming up in the future. Stay tuned. Please consider subscribing to follow along as I turn imaginations into reality.
Drop top, yessir! Great updates. You definitely solved the issue with the front seats!🔥💯💪🏾💯🔥
@@oneteamgarage thanks, brother. I hope so lol, however I'm sure I'll run into several more problems along the way. Its all good. Just take my time and try new things.
Awesome project Clint!! Looking forward to this build!
Thanks, Manny! I'm really excited about this project. Haven't been this excited about a project like this in a LONG time.
@@ScaledInnovations Your welcome!! I ear ya man, looking forward to it!
@@Mannysscalemodeling About to get a light coat of primer on the body now to try and keep track of spots that need extra attention.
@@ScaledInnovations Awesome!
Pretty kewl update. Good looking Monogram kit.
Thank you. It's an older kit and have built it so many times especially as a kid. It was fun then and still is, even as a box stock. I'm just seeing how my skills are now compared to then, lol.
Nice shout outs! Cool hood and sweet looking decals! ☕😎👍
Cool ideas! The 57' i build I'm filling in the bullets. Good eye on the bumper. Making them fit better has become a fetish of mine.☕😎👍
Thanks! Yeah, I have been scrutinizing this kit and comparing it to pics of the actual cars and using pics of custom and pro touring 57 Chevys. I'm really pushing myself to make everything flush and look as damn good as I can make it.
Really nice update on a pretty ambitious project. I'll be following along with this one.
LOL, thank you. I'm learning quick when you change one thing you'll need to change the another....and another...and another, lol. Glad you enjoyed it!
Gotta love a challenging build! Looking forward to following along with project beauty Queen.
RIGHT?!?!?! Was always scared to try something like this but I figured worst comes to worst I can buy another kit and try again. However, if I just took my time and think outside the box and use the tools (have new ones I haven't used yet lol) I have at my disposal than I should be fine. Although, I won't do EVERY project like this I will use what I learn from this project towards future projects. However, I am excited about getting her done and starting another project similar to this one.
Great update 👍🏿
Thanks, Leon! Glad you enjoyed it. What I learn from doing this project I'll be using towards other projects especially my lowrider builds.
Catching up on your videos now. Some beautiful builds 😮😮😮
Thank you! Got quite a few more that'll be making their way on the bench.
Just found your channel and subbed. Great channel...cool stuff 😎
Thanks for joining! Glad you like the videos!
Nice wheels. She looks Great!!!! Thanks for sharing
Thanks for the compliment and bigger thank you for watching!
Looks great! Great details!
@@StoutCreations24 thanks and a bigger thank you for watching. Glad you enjoyed the video and the build.
The Hairline came out really cool! I love the color, wheels, and decals!
Thank you, brother! Tried a few new things. Some work and some didn't, but I learned and that's what counts. Thanks for watching as always!
Came out nice!
Thank you. There are a few things I did for the first time and have learnt a lot from building this kit. If I were to do it again I could do it better, but for now I'm happy with what I have.
Is that BMF or something else for window trim? Final results look amazing.
It's shining silver metallic from Army Painters Warpaint. Thank you!
Awesome Thunderbolt Clint!! Love that color, love the colors you used on the front and rear suspension parts!
Thanks, Manny! The color is gunmetal from Splash Paints.
@@ScaledInnovations Your welcome!! Cool thanks, looks awesome man
Great choice, can't wait to see it!
@@BigSkyModelWorkshop thanks...been cleaning up the pieces so far...there is a lot of cleaning that needs to be done.
I’m a newbie channel also sent you a sub!
Welcome to the community. Hope you'll have some content up soon. Thanks for joining the channel.
@@ScaledInnovations yea about 5 or 6 videos
@@XtremeUndergroundScaleModels just now saw them pop up. Loving that 50 Chevy. Got one in my stash. I'll definitely be watching.
@@ScaledInnovations flat black ohhhhweeee. I want one soooo bad lol.
@@XtremeUndergroundScaleModels great minds think alike. Was gonna do something similar, lmao
You made a great choice Clint! 💪🏾🔥💯🙌🏾
Thanks, brother! Am debating what wheels to go with it. I'm also trying to figure out if I want to weather it up some...can't make up my mind if i want it to be a "new" car or and "older" car.
Both of the chassis’s are phenomenal! You’re doing some incredible work on the builds! Thank you for the shoutout. You’re gonna love the Road Runner! 💯🔥💪🏾
Thanks, man. I already know! I got some ideas for it already, lol. Don't take us long!
I love that kit too. I've built it many times, but never as what it's supposed to be. I will be following for sure to watch it done right.
LOL, I'll try not to disappoint you, lol. Glad to have you aboard.
Nice shoutouts, nice update. Just found your channel. New sub here.
@@marsgarage8217 glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for subbing!!!
Love the Chevelle!
@@mikesmodscustoms I like them as well as the Impalas. I got some really "far out" ideas for this one. However, when I'm done building it I'm going to build a diorama for it. Just won't be able to get the scenery done by the deadline.
Thanks for sharing, really enjoying your content. I shall reach out for shop card swap. We'll, I only have Channel stickers at the moment.
@@mikesmodscustoms no worries, lol. Happy to send you one and I'll take a sticker. I'm going to redo the whole hobby room and one thing I'm going to get is a roller chest for all my tools. Any stickers I get from folks will be going on the box for display at home.
I find it interesting that you have done all body prep and paint even before anything else.
@@mikesmodscustoms it's my favorite part of the process. Unless I'm doing some serious modifications I wait on the paint but still prep the body to where it's ready for paint. Most times I'll get the body in primer cause if I do need to change something it's easier for me to see and make any marks I need to.
Very nice progress on the Fairlane! Loving the color. Great engine details!
Thanks for sharing. It's always nice to see what's inside a kit for those of us thinking about getting this kit.
You're welcome! I totally agree with you and also appreciate an unboxing. Always curious to see the decal sheet or optional parts.
Just stumbled upon your channel. WELCOME! Looking forward to following along. I feel you'll do very well within the modeling community here on RUclips.
Thank you for the kind words. Glad to have you part of the channel.
Very cool choice! Looking forward to seeing your build!
Thanks. Gonna start working on it tomorrow so hopefully I'll get a part one video within the next week.
Nice unboxing and info Clint!! Looking forward to this build! Great video clint!
Thanks, Manny! I'm excited to start on this project.
@@ScaledInnovations Your welcome!! Sweet cars for sure
Awesome Clint, thank you for the shout out and your welcome! That one hood is awesome and the frames! Nice shout out for Gloria!
No problem, brother. Talked to the creator of the parts. I guess the parts were meant for the newer release of the C1500. No worries, I got this, LOL
@@ScaledInnovations Cool, lol yea you got it!!
Man I loved building this kit. Built it twice, 2001 & 2023. Great looking progress brother 👊🏻⚡
Thanks, man. I'm loving this kit. I'm definitely gonna have to get another one and do it for myself.
That was a good video - ready for the next one 👍 Subscribed !
Thanks for subbing. I should be having the next video out in a few weeks.
Cool video Clint! Happy Sunday ☕😎👍
Thank you and I'm glad you enjoyed it. Happy Holidays to you and your family!
Awesome video Clint! The Thunderbolt is a great subject! 😎👍
Thank you! It is an amazing model for sure. I'm definitely gonna have to get one for myself, lmao.
Hey Clint. I just subbed your channel. Ed from One Team Garage sent me your way. Great video. I'm looking forward to seeing more.
Thanks for joining. I plan on picking back up by the middle of January. Hard to find any bench time during the holidays, lol.
@@ScaledInnovations I totally understand, as I work for a catering company! LOL
@@edwardhood6252 Right on! Between kids and both families under one roof it's crazy. I have been doing a few things here and there. The wheels and brakes don't work/fit with the model. I resized them to the correct scale and trying out a different brake set up. I just finished printing them up so I'm going to test fit them within the next few days. Plus, I am getting stuff together for a few other projects including a buddy build that'll be announced later this month.
@@ScaledInnovations Speaking of printing, I recently picked up an Elegoo Mars 5 Ultra. I really need to start learning how to make my own stl's for my builds. I know that some of what I want to print can be either bought as prints or as stl's, but I would rather use my own creations as much as possible.
@@edwardhood6252 There are programs that can help you with creating your own STL files, but each have their own learning curves. Cults3D.com have a plethora of files in different scales and most can be resized for the scale you need. Believe it or not there are probably files for what you need/want unless it is more specific.
Great update! Nice video!! Doing some really good work there.
Thank you. Unfortunately, the brakes I had set out didn't work no matter what I tried. I am switching the brakes out so hopefully 2md attempt is more successful, lmao.
@ you’re welcome! And that stuff happens so no worries
Hey there, Gloria from Stout creations sent me over. Got you subbed. Nice unboxing!! That’s a great looking kit.
Thanks. Hope you also enjoy the videos of the build process. I subbed to you as well.
@ thanks very much for the subscription and I’m going to be checking out that next video directly!!
@@kyledehartsscaleworks no problem! Sounds good. Hope you enjoy it!
Great update Clint, coming along nicely buddy, 👍🎁🎄
Thank you! I'm surprised how nice this kit turned out to be. There is a lot of details here. Glad you are enjoying the videos.
Great body prep and priming! I totally agree with you about the gray primer. I’m going to get back in the habit of spraying gray primer to catch issues. You did a fantastic job on the hood scoop! 💯🔥💪🏾
Thanks, brother. I promise you it took way longer in real time than the video, lmao!!! Yeah, gray primer is so much easier to work with when it comes to fixing and prepping for base coats.
Awesome video Clint!! Love those Thunderbolt cars! Man I have to get one of those scribers!
Thanks, Manny! It's a really nice kit. They really help deepen the panel lines.
@@ScaledInnovations Your welcome!! Yea I have to get one, the one I have is junk lol
@@Mannysscalemodeling Not going to lie Tamyia are very proud of their products. That scribing tool I got off Amazon for like $25, however it is worth the money.
