ASC E-Class EC4 - Lake Emily - Portage County, WI Parks Weather Warning Voice System 9/2/2024
This has been on my bucket list for quite some time now. The system was revamped in 2022 by SWS and is pretty cool. This is currently a voice-only system but the second TTS string sent by dispatch acts as kind of a pre-PA tone.
Portage County tests these sirens every Monday between 11 and 1 and are located at Lake DuBay, Collins, Jordan, and Lake Emily county parks.

Was going to record a P-15, felt pretty down today going through some stuff, so decided to stay home and record this instead. Had a tornado warning the other day, put together some footage. I have really dead batteries in the 128, also probably should’ve only activated once but I wasn’t sure if the county went twice at that point. Turns out they were just 7 minutes late. Go figure.

Caught the train in Caledonia, we raced up to the bridge to catch it again. Was stopped in a siding awaiting MOW equipment to pass through so we were able to catch it in time. What an awesome train!!!!

Tested my 128 for the test today. The siren is setup with a wifi arm feature which turns on the FC and wifi controls, and subsequently can be activated by either WIFI or DTMF depending on where I am. The batteries were used and are showing their age but still functional for now. Also MKE tested the system for a full alert so that was unexpected. Tom D. Nice! I recorded a P-15 that I didn't notice there at the victory school In Milwaukee. It was the siren closest to me which is a few minutes away.
You can hear victory school fire up in this video, I’m just south of the menards on 27th so about a mile
