My first video on my build as it's been off to a slow start. trying to figure out how to fit the engine, and what I wanted to do with the front end was a 6 month ordeal alone because of waiting for parts. Supply shortages and all that fun stuff. Big shout out to Power by the hour, they have a great channel and awesome service for their products. Along with Western Motorsports out of Calgary as ...
2013+ Santa Fe Fuel Door problem
Просмотров 32 тыс.4 года назад
This is how to fix a fuel door release problem on a 2013 and newer Santa Fe, if you are finding that the release actuator is getting weak or has stopped working altogether. Before removing anything to check voltage at the actuator, check resistance at the fuel door switch located on the driver's door. This video shows how I went about the repair originally, and hopefully save you time, aggravat...

Follow our journey in this 20 min video of our pictures and videos we took of our experience in the summer of 2018. We started in Canmore, AB and stopped or drove by many hot springs (Invermere, Fairmont, Ainsworth, Nakusp, Halcyon). The ride between Kelowna and Osoyoos was smokey from a fire around the Peachland area. Other than that, the weather was amazing, and the traffic was great during o...

Pictures and some of Lorisa's riding on her first trip ever, riding her own bike. A Honda NC700X
Need to see the fuel door itself, it seems to be popping out
Thanks really appreciate the effort
Sounds like potentially my issue. 2013 and it is hit or miss with weather it works. Will try cleaning up the contacts. Thank you sir, nothing like a potential free repair. Who knows what the dealership would charge.
Update: We have 285,000 kms on our Santa Fe now and the fuel door still opens as good as ever from this repair 👍
great to hear that!
Thank you! Dealing with the dealership to fix my Santa Fe's lever's malfunctioning, has been most frustrating. Part of the frustration stems from the warranty company - the wait time to talk to someone was never less than 25 minutes. AND this national warranty company is on east coast hours (I live in California) + they close at 6pm EST. I think I need to call the dealership's attention to this very video!! Again - thank you!
Good luck!
Great video. I have the same problem. Shouldn’t be a problem now. Thanks!
I'll be trying this, just changed out the actuator and it didn't fix it haha
Wish I would have seen this before I swapped out the actuator. Problem was as you described, thank you.
Outstanding video, thank you very much for this.
Thank you for making this video! I am going to do this soon, as opening the back and using the pull cord is getting old…Next, the windshield washer pump!!!
How do you remove the gas cap cover? PLEASE!!!!
There may be videos just for that, but I'm pretty sure that inner panel needs to come off. Complete pain.
How to open tapli back ???
Thank you, my Hyundai have this problem right now… so I only need clean the contacts? Thanks 🙏
It's the first thing I would recommend trying. It's free, and relatively easy!
Came across this video by accident, but it so happens that our 2014 Santa Fe XL has suffered the same issue for at least 3 years now. I assumed, like you did, that it was a bad spring in the door. Hard to imagine that a contact on an interior switch that gets used every 2 weeks or so (whenever you fill up) would ever go bad.
Definitely a material flaw in the switch
Great advice. Dirty contacts was the issue on my 2014 Sant Fe. Thank you.
Frustrating issue in my 2013 Santa Fe. Thank you!!
Thanks - Had to clean the door switch like you described and it resolve the Fuel door not opening on my SantaFe DM - Glad it was just that. THank you for taking the time to share.
Thank you. It was the switch and I cleaned the contacts as you did. For those that don't know how to remove the door panel, there is a great video here: ruclips.net/video/dVqwy6EppJ0/видео.html
Thanks!
Thanks from me, too!!
Thank very much mate. Been having this issue since the last 18 months. Finally working
You fucking beautiful man thank you!
You made me giggle!! I needed to giggle, with MY Santa Fe's gas door issues.
I'm so glad I watch this video before the one I was looking for!
THANK YOU X 100! Your video saved me hundreds of dollars and countless headaches
So I ordered the replacement part (fuel filler door actuator) and stumbled upon your video to learn of its install. Followed your lead and first checked the contacts and roughed them up a bit with some light grade sand paper and voila fixed. Thanks very much I am returning the unopened part and should send you the cash! Appreciate the video. My 2013 has 300K and is still going pretty strong despite some usual expected maintenance. Does use oil though!
Perfect that's what I like to hear. Glac you saved some money
Same just worked on a stomers car.
Part number for the door lock actuator right front?
Do you have any info on how to the fuel door off so I could the Actuator out.. mine broke
It is a pain, but I searched a diagram on google somewhere that helped. Although I had it apart, I did not film that part because I was hoping to save people time by not going for it but check the switch instead. I know once you remove the rubber piece, the door assembly itself rotates to be removed.
My just removed the 4 screws around the fill gas lid and pulled
Finally someone made a video regarding this issue on the fuel door which I think is a common problem on Hyundai and Kia . Hope you ran the camera when you dismantled the door trim panel and when you removed the actuator
I did not, but in the video I explain why. Also, the removal of the interior panel is not that hard, just a pain. Left rear seat and rear storage compartment need to be removed first. However, as the video explains, check the switch at the door first! Door panel removal is easy and there are video's on RUclips for it if you are unsure. Thx
@@clintupham4466 do you have to remove the entire rear seat? I have to replace my actuator and it seems like it will take quite a bit of time.
@@naper458 The rear seat isn't that bad to remove actually. It's the trim that is not that fun. This video was made to help people make sure it's not the actuator itself because the switch is much easier to diagnose and replace or repair.
Loved the fact that you are all riding different bikes, even a trike in the mix. Also liked the mix of stills and videos. The stills show a good knowledge of composition.
Great trip, good job on the edit Clint.
Thank you!
Loved it!!! Kinda like the people too :)
