1995 Lincoln Towncar - Checkout & Background
It's considered anything over 20 years would be considered vintage. I use mine for my tires on my car and it does just fine.
Do you know how many watts this uses? I've got a 12-volt Outlet in my car that will take up to 150 watts. Or put out 150 watts I'm not sure about the lingo. If you see this please let me know.
I have a small 1 gallon shop vacuum branded Shopvac. I bought it back in 2001 and it still runs great. Nowadays, I mostly use my Metabo 18 volt 1 gallon and a half shop vacuum so that I don’t have to suffer the inconvenience of an extension cord!
I really liked this one. I think I mentioned in the video that sometimes these small ones tip over easily and are a pain. But this one is sturdy. But as life goes on and I replace my equipment, I'm switching to battery where I can.
@@CartierEd Mine tips easy also. Then I have to stop it to let the ball drop inside. My Metabo is more user friendly for the most part. I still like the vintage ones also.
Utilitech is a Lowes exclusive brand. While these fans are inferior to the Pattons, as the other commenter said, it certainly blows away a modern-day 3733.
Just about everything blows away a 3733!
The machine at 1:51, isnt for cutting pavement but is a horizontal directional drilling machine, for more info on that see Practical Engineering's video on that ruclips.net/video/JAhdb7dKQpU/видео.html The reason why there haven't been more outages is I suspect (from education (Im European so might be different over there) ) they don't change the old cable they just run a parallel cable to the old one, to give more capacity to the electric network in that area, so the 20 min outage is when they connected the new cable to the transformer The green arrows are where the sewer line is to they dont hit that So all in all i suspect that this is more a preventive measure to make sure there enough capacity for when/if people get electric cars and or solar cells Source I got a BTecMan & MarEng (Bachelor of Technology Management and Marine Engineering)
Wow! This was very helpful! Thank you! And that would make sense. I have solar, my neighbor has solar, they also have an electric car. Thanks again! :)
Hey Ed, I knew right off the bat that’s not your fan. It being that’s not a box fan was the herald. I own that same Utilitech fan that I bought back in 2013. I kept it stored away for a long time but now I’m using it sometimes. I use it for floor drying after I mop. I’ve set it up in my kitchen to push smoke out the window for when the stove eye fumed over. I sometimes set it up in a chair to push air out the window like a big window fan in exhaust. The fan is powerful for a modern day fan. But to me it’s definitely inferior to an old Patton blue bladed fan. My fan actually has a silver badge instead of a black one. Also, it uses just simply grommets instead of knob fasteners to hold the cage in place. Other than that, it’s identical to the fan that you’re showing!
You know me well. Correct not my fan. But it piqued my interest. I'm getting closer to perhaps getting a fan like this one day as they are way better than a 3733. Cool that you have an older one at put it in service from time to time!
@@CartierEd I’ll do a video of my Utilitech one day. It appears inferior but does what I need it to!
Your son’s creativity with that fan makes me find myself liking just one modern day Lasko box fan. Maybe years down the road if your son gets married and has kids, he could use that same fan to cool his kids bedroom. I think that maybe he can keep that fan going. And then maybe fan collectors will be bragging about a modern Lasko box fan that’s like 15 years old and still going! Kind of like how our elders preserved their box fans from like 20 years back. The beautiful green cabinet makes it conspicuous among other Lasko box fans!
That is awesome. I think he will be like that. He has started a little collection of his own. This past weekend he found I think a 1950's table fan that was seized. He fixed it on his own. I'm sure he will want to video it! He painted his lasko himself and he was probably 10 or so at the time. It came out really well, most young people over paint and it drips everywhere but this looks like an adult did it!
I'm glad to see this fan serviced once more! It is truly a commitment. Great video and great son.
He loves this fan! He will put pillows on the floor when he puts it in the window 'in case.' It's the sweetest thing!
Why are there like 50 videos about box fans on this channel. So bizzare....
What would you like to see?
@CartierEd it's not that there is anything wrong with it, it's just the most random topic and I was shocked at the number of them. Are fans like your hobby or something?
@@lyman135 Yes. There are a lot of us out here posting fan videos. It's actually quite a hobby. Additionally, there are several fan meets each year!
It would also be interesting to see how the Air King would perform with one of the original petal blades like the ones Jordan U has from 1999-00. Those blades have way more pitch.
That would be interesting. If I get my hands on a set, I'll give that a try! Thanks for the suggestion.
It's crazy that a full size 3rd gen P223 with the 8 screw grills from 1986-87 is actually thinner then that modern air king.
I tell you, just the appearance of that superb Lakewood just about annihilates the Air King altogether in my eyes. Ain’t no fan of today going to berate the big ole handsome Lakewood. It has very classy blades. It puts out more air than the Air King at lower speeds. More people need more voracity towards box fans so that they could at least bring back just one good box fan to equate to the Lakewood. I will never again be a customer for a new Lasko 3733. The 3733 that I have will just be a comparison fan for my future videos doing a quality equation to my other fans. Your Lakewood is very much the winner in the video.
Good Comparison video of both of them together vintage will always be better but I’m glad to see the both of them run I enjoyed the video
I’m glad you found that Air King which is your better modern day fan. It does put out decent airflow for what it is. The Air King is rated at 2140 cfm according to its websites. However, them cone blades have to spin at high rpm to be able to move any significant amount of air. Hence, that makes them loud. If Air King were to ever go back to D Shaped blades or metal blades then I would give them a lot more credit. As of now, the Air King isn’t anything to write home about in my world. The other Lasko box fans are probably under 2000 cfm with the 3733 being at only 1700 cfm or under. My retro Holmes stand fans may be comparable to your Air King. However, my Holmes 16 inch stand fans could put out more airflow than the other Lasko box fans. Maybe I should do more videos comparing my 3733 to my other fans!
How does the power pro compare to the cool color?
Great question! I will add to that to the list!
cant wait to see the Air king comparison with the P25 Video soon
I'm staring right at the P-25 in the box as I brought it out of the museum and in the queue for videos! :)
I recall the box fans of the past could be felt from a long distance. At an industry that I used to work for, an old Lasko box fan with the spoked hub was used to cool the workers on the line. And I mean to tell you, the thrust from the fan even from a distance felt powerful. These modern box fans can’t even be felt from like 4 feet away it seems like. I really couldn’t feel the “commercial” Lasko box fans at the billiards place when they had a few going in close vicinity.
I think that observation is very accurate. It's like where the heck is the air? Back in the day a cheap box fan would feel powerful if you sat in front of it!
That one is a metel marco motor witch started to be used around 88 or 89 i have an 89 to 90 eastern electric with dark gray blades and it has the metel marco motor like yours and diffrence between metel marco motors they don't have that constent wine like the plastic ones do
That is great! And a nice fan you have. I had a 90 Lasko that looks just like what you described. I saved my own money for it and when my dad's fan broke he threw it out and just took mine from the basement and used it. At one point it fell out of the window a few times. And I think it seized up and he threw it out! I was upset as I knew it was a unique looking lasko at the time. I haven't seen really anyone like that since (short of hearing about your Eastern)
Well, another video of the only Lasko box fan on the face of this earth that I like. It being that your son was creative with fixing up the green fan, I actually like it. The Edison fan is definitely worth writing home about. Here’s another thought! That is even though the Edison is smaller diameter wise, I bet it still puts out more air than the Lasko’s! The green Lasko and the Edison are both keepers!
You just gave me a comparison idea! Comparing the little Edison against a 3733! I think we know who wins! :)
@@CartierEd I say the Edison wins! I own 2 big battery powered Metabo fans. They are all metal except for the motor housings. And, a 14 inch blade. They are very handy but I just need to carry extra batteries(18 volt). Even my Metabo battery powered fans have bigger thrust than a 3733!
Good box fan comparison I enjoyed the video keep
Thank you! :)
Hi Cartier I am looking for a vintage 3733 how do you get yours and also could u trade for a newer 3733 by chance or a roborson box fan frame thanks.
My 90's 3733 I've owned since new. I bought it myself when I was 19 years old in 1997! Those years I do still see on facebook market place and even ebay (more expensive on ebay). Roebeson is a little bit harder. The model I have I found on ebay and basically was never used but expensive. Depending on where you are located I have a few toastmasters I could part with. OR, next Spring you should come to the fan meet up in Allenton, PA. Lots of fan swapping and low cost auctions. My best advice that works for me is to be patient and eventually something will show up on market place that you want!
Glad the Edison is fixed and cool set of fans in your sons room
Thank you! I'm glad my son the next generation of fan collectors is well on his way to being one of us! :)

Cool comparison between the two fans I do however have the red pro-power one and I have the weather shield and premium one as well they are good fans but the 9723 air king beats them all Lol such an awesome fan I now have 3 of them two metal bladed and one plastic bladed I enjoyed the video keep up the good work 😊
Thank you! It is funny you say that. I'm thinking of building a fleet of Air King's so if they should ever be discontinued that HV blade or the fan itself, I am good for years to come!
That air conditioner is worth saving.
I would agree.
The motors between the two are as follows the 3733 has a 0.8 amp motor and the 9723 Air King has an 1.0 amp motor so that’s the difference between the two of them. Also I have a special request can you do a comparison between the 9723 Air King and Lakewood P-25 please thanks I enjoy all of your fan content 😊
Thanks, Lemont! Your request is a good one. I'll be sure to shout out when I get the video done! :)
@@CartierEd awesome can’t wait to see it soon and you welcome
The Air King is somewhat better than the 3733. But, I’m still not a fan of the fan! I think that Air King should make a big box fan with the HV oval blades with metal grills to go along with it. That would be a true commercial box fan!
I would love if it had HV blades that you describe. I suppose there is a way to make that happen...
@@CartierEd It would happen if a lot more people acknowledged what a real box fan is.
It sounds like one of those modern 3733's with the large capacitor. It sounds like it's spinning crazy fast. The hum the blade makes on high speed is very high pitched. It's definitely turing more RPMs than the 3rd gen Lakewood 200/I you have, and those are no slouch when it comes to RPMs on high speed. This Lasko sounds like it has the large capacitor.
Thanks for the heads up. That is good to know and I would also agree with the observation!
I used to collect fans several years ago and I still have a lot of them. I mainly use the fans now for ventilation along with backups in case some of the fans die out. I have some floor high velocity fans along with many retro fans. I did give a few fans away last year to a lady that uses them. Anyway, back in about 2013, I decided to add a new Lasko 3733 to my collection. I do have a few videos ranting about its inferior quality. I decided to get the box fan for the purpose of keeping it and comparing to the Lasko box fans made 20 years from then which would be like 2033. It’s been 11 years and it still looks the same as the Lasko box fans today. In about another decade Lasko box fans will look exactly the same as well. Hence, if I know of any else wanting a fan, I will offer to give them my 3733! There will always be the same wimpy ass bladed Lasko box fans being produced in mass quantities! I think that my retro 16 inch pedestal fans even move more air than the 3733.
Wow. I'd have like to known when you were giving away some of your collection! :) There are several models I'm looking for and others I wouldn't mind having duplicates (or more). I totally agree about the 3733. I feel like it has reached it's manufactured limits. Short off offering spin-off models like cool colors, power plus, etc, the 3733 will be the same in 2033. Sadly.
@@CartierEd I have a few fans that I can give you but I would have to figure out how to get them sent off to your location. But all my retro fans I’m going to keep. I will also hold onto just a few of my high velocity fans also. Lasko box fans will always stay the same. In my opinion, I don’t think the higher end Lasko box fans are much better than the 3733. I’ve seen them running in person a time or two.
@@Sammy2012ify Basically I have a few unicorn fans that I'd pay through the nose for. A newer metal bladed Lasko (discontinued a few years ago), Another P-25, An Edison with the venturi ring, the Infinite speed edison, and the Edison with moving grill. In addition... I'd always grab another Edison, Lakewood, or 90's Lasko! :) I know you didn't ask but it's fun to list them.
@@CartierEd My Holmes Platinum stand fan is a unicorn fan but I’m not giving it away. Well, you like box fans. You can have my 3733 or my Holmes brace bladed fan!
I have the same heater with the same date. May of 2019. This little dude screams the heat man, could pry roast a damn marshmallow with it for real. Use it in my garage beneath my work table. Powerful little box, expensive too. Not a cheap unit. Think I got mine for $89
Funny timing. I just broke my back out this morning for the first time this fall and forgot how it can nearly melt the skin off and make the furniture hot to the touch. It is an awesome heater! I had to shut it off as the room got too hot!
I also bought one of these this year. Bought mine at my local ACE hardware they only had 2 left so I picked one up. I also swapped the stock blade out for a Lasko Weather shield blade. And performance was better and it wasn't as loud
That is cool. This is in my mind the best new box fan you can buy today. Short of the blades, I love it. I'm going to do a metal HV blade swap shortly.
It works better then the ac in my green truck.i may need a car box fan. Perhaps a truck box fan.
Car box fans are the best ;) Especially when you have someone to point it at you!
Is that his fan with the cabinet painted green. Is it being powered by an extension cord?
This is not my son's green custom cool colors. Good question though. This was basically a free fan someone was giving away so we grabbed it. And my son plugged into the Suburban's power outlet as I was pulling out of their driveway. It was a funny moment! :)
@@CartierEd Cool! I didn’t think that a car could accommodate a 120 volt appliance. I thought that it was all 12 volt power things. Your son’s green fan is about the only Lasko box fan that I approve of!
Congratulations on your newest acquisition. I know that you wanted an Air King box fan and I’m happy that you finally have it. As with Lasko box fans, I do not like those cone shaped blades. To me those cone shaped blades just have no class. I know the fan has a wide cabinet. They need the D shaped blades to go with the wide cabinet. But if you like it in which I know that you do, then to each their own. Maybe you’ll get a lot of satisfaction out of it!
Thank you! I can't stand the cone shaped blades! Not easy on the eyes and I'd pretty much take any other style over these. There will be a modification in the near future! : )
@@CartierEd I bet I know what it is! You’re going to swap out for the Lasko HV blade. That won’t be as good as a true metal box fan. But, it’s better than nothing!
Cool addition to your collection. Looking forward to all the comparison videos.
Thank you! :)
Yes, it is better because it has a 1.0-amp motor that can drive the metal blade and plastic blade its very powerful it's the last to have the full-size body cabinet you will enjoy using it in the window or wherever so the motor there is no difference in both motors there both 1.0 amps and the blade will not cause any harm at all or overheat i know i did it. I can't wait to see you put the metal blade on this one or the next one you buy i am so happy to see you got one the only box fan today with a full-size cabinet or body
Thanks Lemont! I'm looking forward to the conversion! Thanks for the inspiration! I may call this fan the Lemont Air King! :)

This was a really good video. Just found your channel. Is this your daily? I really am wanting a 97 but leaning towards the 11. Only reason I feel parts, rust and mechanical issues will be a headache with the 97. Do you have a hard time finding parts? Thanks
hey also would love to see a post of common issues with this particular year. Hard to find that info for the 97 and earlier models. Thanks
Thank you for the kind words! This is not my daily. I use to have one identical to it when I was young and it was a daily from 01-09 where I took it to 265K. This one is just a hobby. I understand what you are saying about rust and parts. At times it can be hard to get certain things. Like I'm on the look out for the window/seat switches that are on the drivers door as the switches are starting to go. I love this car and will do what I can to keep it going for as long as I can! :)

Thanks for the tip
Very awesome I love it when the wind blows my box fan blades it also might be good for the old box fan motors for the wind to blow on them after they were on and running .cool those old box fan motor’s off
The wind was wild that day. I don't think I have seen it blow the blades like that before!
@@CartierEd I have with mine lol especially if I would bring one outdoors when it was windy my childhood Robeson used to spin like your Lakewood when we had it in my kitchen window in the early 2000s and it was windy
Now I want to do this lol
It was fun. My son is coming up with other combinations we do lol
What an awesome video bro excellent job stacking them up that was so cool to see them spinning in both directions can’t wait to see you run them soon I enjoyed the video
Thank you. It was my son's idea and he already wants to try different fan combos! LOL
Get outta your kids' special private space!! Just kidding. Hope he doesn't get turned upside down by this world like most kids nowadays.
LOL! Actually, just recently he had a neighborhood buddy over and they were up in that area trying to build a TP out of sticks. Warms my hearts there are still kids outside building and playing!
Most tenants won't change out light bulbs for fear of losing their security deposit. I personally don't blame the tenant but I also don't blame you either.
As I type I'm still looking at a out bulbs. Today is a pouring rainy day. Think I'll be ordering bulbs!
You’re downtown now! You’re showing us some true genuine box fans again. My grandparents had a Toastmaster identical to yours. They also owned a blue Kmart 223 which is identical to the one I got off EBay last year. By the way, my Kmart box fan does run good. But the inside of its motor is caked up with dust. I’m afraid to use the fan until I clean up its motor and oil it. I’m taking my sweet ole time with that. It’s a great nostalgia item either way. Moreover, it doesn’t get any better than those oval metal bladed box fans. I saw a lot more of those around when I was a kid and I miss them! And throughout the summer, I saw quite a bit of modern Lasko box fans thrown out to the curbside including the cool colors fans. And very seldom did I ever see true box fans of the past at a curbside.
I totally agree with you. At the location that video was shot the fans dont get daily use or pounded on by the sun so I don't mind running them a bit. I baby my babies lol! You're so right about them not being curbed. And likely if they are it's because someone damaged the cord or they need oil. Lasko and all modern junk piles high on curbs! Your fans sound cool too! Keep em forever!
@@CartierEd I will! If I didn’t have so many fans already, I would invest in a vintage metal bladed box fan!
Very cool spot I have a spot in the woods here in north Tonawanda where I can be by my favorite train track I’m a very heavy train fan and I walk to this wooded spot every Monday and Wednesday and Friday when my favorite train is out
It is interesting you mention that. In our small town there is a train that runs along the canal. And certain times of the year you can really hear it (think it has to do when the leaves are not on the trees). Your spot sounds like a nice place too!
@@CartierEd too cool for sure it might be the leaves being gone that’s makes it louder and my train spot is quite nice
