This is less about hunting for sport and more about decreasing the deer population destroying a farmers crops. Deer season starts soon and hopefully we will get some good footage that is less “lame” lol

Here's my brother in laws "cletus' clover salve". Worst of all they been terrible for my sons business, "able Jr's alfalfa face wash". We can't get nothing done with these deer out here. The way I figure we need at least 3 of those permits.

It’s a crop damage permit. The rules are different.

You can hunt deer anywhere with thermal. But nighttime hunting is only if you have a permit.

@@LastBreathValley Kansas a thermal is not legal equipment for deer, day or night. Neither is any digital scope. They have to be optical scopes. Just checked Colorado since it’s next to me. Any kind of computer on the rifle (whether it be for photography or an integrated part of the rifle) is considered a smart rifle and is prohibited. Which includes thermals. That’s only 2, so I checked their neighbor Utah, maybe 3rd time is the charm. ‘A person may not use any night vision device to locate or attempt to locate a big game animal between July 31 and January 31’. Utah has a latest deer season of Oct. 29th. You seem to believe it’s the case though, so to be good faith I tried to find a state that allowed them, and there’s some partial truth to what you said. Tennessee does allow them, except between sunset and sunrise, and I’m too lazy to check other states, but it’s certainly not ‘anywhere.’ It also SEEMS to be illegal in North Carolina but the law is a little vague.

That’s new to me. I’ve never seen a regulation that says anything about optics but I only look for states surrounding Georgia. It is legal Georgia.

This doe was just over 100 yards and I shoot the 62 ELDVT bullet. A lot of people use SST or SP but the deer around here are not very big. The bullet goes in and explodes and usually never has an exit but is just under the skin on the other side. Just like a Berger.

We are in Georgia. We have a crop permit issued to us by the DNR that allows us to hunt at night and out of season.

With a crop damage permit you can anywhere.

If you contact DNR they will come inspect the crops. We don’t have to fake the damage so I’m not sure. There are up to 40 deer in the field at a time so the damages are very noticeable.

One field is 15 deer and another is 25. It depends on the damage and deer population.

It’s not for sport. It’s to protect an investment in crops.
