When you talk to common people they would say that corruption is the main reason of degradation of PIA. Well, it is a reason but that is not the real reason. If state of PIA is due to corruption than why no other local airlines are not being flourished, why AirBlue, in aviation business for the last 25 years or so, is operating only ten aircraft, why don't they have 50 aircraft in their fleet? The answer of this question is the reason of PIA's state. There is a fundamental flaw in Pak's aviation policy and regulations which hinders local airline to grow. Our aviation policies favor foreign airlines more on the cost of local ones. Successive governments, starting from NS in late 90's, allowed regional giants to fly on all airports in the country numbers of time in a day and these airlines are taking major chunks of passengers whereas local airlines can never compete with them due to their influence.
