No way! I have owned this phone for what, like 3 years maybe? I have only seen green, blue, red and white but just now I saw a magenta light. Gave it a search and this video comes up showing that there are tons more. **mind blown**

That sticks sucks that you need an app to change the color of your led light on the nexus 4

This phone is really awesome but even tho it has physical LED it's not that visible. I need to be in front of my phone if I want to see if I had missed call or sms. Anyway I was lucky enough and I found really great and powerful application called "Led Actor" ( if you want search on Google play). It's really cool because now I can see flashing my phone's screen even tho I'm like few meters away. And you can choose screen color also for particular event.

It's a tri-color LED ; it makes white by mixing red, green and blue. You can control each color channel separately so you can make a large range of colors.

Purple does not look purple...more like gray... Dark Orange looks red and Gold looks orange.

Dark orange is more red and gold is more orange.

the LED notification was one of the main reasons why I bought a Nexus as my replacement phone for the iPhone 3g.. but I was disappointed to find out that the light isn't really that bright neither does it stand out that much IRL. oh well, you can't have everything.. but it IS a very cool feature indeed!

They're based on the app, I think the app icon. Texts are green, IMO is blue, Gmail is white, Yahoo is purple (apparently)

can you, for example, select the blue light for facebook notifications, green for whatsapp, red for missed calls, etc? that would be really nice, allowing you to see what kind of notifications you have just with one glance at the phone.
