I tried one of these the first time I ever saw one, years ago now, and was really impressed by not only the sound but the volume was amazing huge sound for being so small. Better by far than the four full sized ?better brand? ones next to it. Still kicking myself I didn't buy it right then, went back for it a week later it was sold, they never got another one in and I've been chasing another one far too long.

Well I had the fortune to find one this week for €200. It's pretty loud and the clean channel is superb with my Tele. The volume knob is snapped even thought it still push/pulls and turns easily. I'm going to get a new pot and fix this myself. It's a very musical sounding amp and when strumming the Tele the chords are clear and punchy. It's got great bass too even with the stock Fender speakers. I will use this amp live as my Marshall TSL602 is breaking my back and the clean is not that clean at all!

These 'red knob' Fenders get a lot of negative stick, by a) people that have never actually seen one in real life b) never actually played thru one! It's total bull by the ones in 'the know' and it's annoying. What the hell do they know about them! My number one rule with any amp is this, how does it sound to me. Full stop. Does it allow my instrument to express it's full potential? If so I'll say it's a good amp, if not I'll say so too. I'm about to audition a Super 210 in real life and if I like it I will buy it! By the way this demo sounds pretty good and that's enough of a persuader for me. So as Zappa said, "shut up n play yer guitar" and stop dissing stuff you no nothing about! Trust me, in five years, those same heads will be saying "Oh the Red Knob' Fender Super 210s from the late 80s were amazing and I just gotta get me one"!!!

I just picked up one of these today, and I plugged my ES335 styled guitar...and wow that clean presence and dynamic tone...I knew when I heard it that for me, Fender is the type of tone I love (well for cleans anyway!!). I recommend this amp and I have had Fenders before and this is easily as nice a tone! I am not gigging with mine though...so weight is not an issue!

Isnt this video different to what keith richards says?: "At the 5 chord, instead of making the conventional barre chord, the B7th, which requires a little effort with the left hand, he wouldn’t bother with the B at all. He’d leave the open A note ringing and just slide a finger up the D string to a 7th. And there’s the haunting note, resonating against the open A. So you’re not using root notes, but letting it fall against a 7th. Believe me, it’s (a) the laziest, sloppiest single thing you can do in that situation, and (b) one of the most brilliant musical inventions of all time."
