      Thanks man! I love the Code, although I've always wanted the fairly soft edges to be just a tad sharper and less hidden away up on the underbelly of the boat. I'll probably switch to an Indra at some point just for the increased speed and more aggressive edges!

      @FORTRANWW ya it just makes it way more responsive. I got use to a Antix, so going from that to the phantom, it's like driving a bus lol. I really want to try the indra though.

    What are your camera settings? I’m shooting on the DJI action 4 in 4K 60 D-Log M with Rocksteady and I turn down the sharpening in-camera. I’m editing/Color- Grading in Davinci and exporting in ProRes 422 but I can’t seem to get the same quality when I upload to RUclips. 🤷🏼‍♂️ not sure what I’m doing wrong lol.😂 Just not quite as crisp as yours

    • @FORTRANWW
      @FORTRANWW 5 месяцев назад

      I shoot 4k30, standard color profiles in most cases. Turning the sharpening down is great, and removes a lot of the oversharpened GoPro "look" that you see commonplace in a lot of videos. I wouldn't personally worry about uploading a huge ProRes 422 file (not that I haven't done it), but more so that RUclips is going to compress the everliving hell out of whatever you upload. In my opinion it's more important to specify a high encoding bitrate, especially with the amount of movement and fine detail present in action sports POV. If you can tell me which of my videos are uploaded in ProRes 422 (there is only one) then I will be impressed! RUclips murders everything of a requisite quality down to whatever internal 4K codec they've developed, so I wouldn't worry too much about formatting. h.264 veryslow, high bitrates, and be sure your audio isn't being compressed, and the rest will figure itself out.

    This is an awesome video guys. I really want to try creek boating like this (if that's what this is called). I'm 40 years old and very active. I have white water rafting experience and sea kayaking experience. I have always wanted to get into the rapids like this it just looks like so much fun. Do you have any good guide outfits up in your area there you recommend? I am smart enough to know this should never be done alone. I live over on the coast in Astoria. Thanks. Rad ass video.

      I have two companies I'd recommend for three different purposes. If you just want to go on a guided rafting trip in the Columbia gorge, Wet Planet offers trips down the White Salmon. If you want an intro to kayaking class, Wet Planet also offers those. If you want white water rafting instruction to improve your rafting skills, Northwest Rafting Company offers both large class and private rowing instruction.

    I ran that stretch of river probably 50 times or more back in the 1990s. I didn't recognise any rapids other than the falls. they don't look quite as high any more. try running it at flood stage, it only takes about an hour and a half, if that. get wild and run the stretch above. only 6 or 7 waterfalls, a couple you have to hit just right.
