I have a query , once the eb1b is approved , usually how long it will take to get the GC

Thank you, How to use these to apply for electives?
Residency explorer and FREIDA are to decide on the residency programs to apply for the residency match. This is not for electives. Thanks @shaikwahidasulthana for your ?
@ okay. I’m sorry I got confused.
Thanks for this complete description. I have a Q about signaling in ERAS. Should all of our supporting documents, like original Med. School transcripts and LoRs are ready before signaling to a residency program? Or we can update our profile later and if they ask for them? Thanks
For a signaled program to make a decision whether to invite you for interview, the PD needs all the elements of your residency application. Thank you @Soccereditz666 for your ?
Dr. Agrawal i got an interview which is in 2 weeks and i want to do a mock interview with you. But there r no spot available on the website. Can you please help me i really want to practice with you before my interview
Pls email admin@ed4medus.com for scheduling.
Very informative, thank you doctors!
Thank you very much. This is hands down one of the most useful videos I have watched related to ERAS CV. Really appreciate it.
Thanks @Sreeja196 for your kind feedback. Do share with your friends applying for residency.
Thank you this was very helpful!
Thank you @michigan1085 for your kind feedback!
if you have more than 1 research experience, can you group them and talk about each within the 750 characters?
It depends - you can do that if all those research experiences happened at the same institution and time. Other option is to prioritize and include only the most important research experiences and leave out the rest. Thanks @gabrialaandrews6701 for your ?
Thank you. 🙏
Do we need to enter the experineces in chronological order from the dates and years , or we can mention anyway?
The ERAS application will arrange your experiences in the chronological order. Thanks @nayeemsultana2258 for your ?
As my major source of information, I hope I get my answers to this question. If I’m my experience is still ongoing, do I still have to use past tense or I can use present tense? Eg “ participated” instead of “participate “ . Thank you.🙏
It is grammatically incorrect to use a past tense for something that is currently happening. OK to use 'participate' for your experience. Thanks @michaelfaraday8391 for your ?
I would like to thank Dr Juliana very much as an img. I think she is a very good candidate. And I am hundred percent sure that she has been placed in an excellent program. This was the most instructive video I've watched in about a week. I want to thank Dr Agrawal for this. We (imgs) are waiting for similar videos
Glad that you found my video to be valuable. Do share with your friends and colleagues applying for residency. Thanks @burakmuratoglu6990 for your kind support 😊
Dr Agarwal is the best
Very glad to hear! Do share this and other videos with your friends applying for the Match. Thank you @bilalbashir for your kind support 😊
If I had a clinical and research experience at the same institution within the same time frame, do I put it as 1 or 2 experiences?
I recommend you combine the 2 into 1 experience in your ERAS CV as both the clinical and research work happened in the same institution and time frame (maybe even with the same mentor!). Thanks @joshuaemina8224 for your ?
Dr Agarwal you’re a gem, very helpful
Can applicant write a about less than 10 experiences or we have to stick to the 10? Also please explain to me the differences between research experience and publication? I’m kinda confused between the two. Thank you.
You can only put the number of experiences you have had. So if you had <10 experiences, that's the most you can put in your ERAS CV. Not every research experience leads to a publication or poster presentation - also the research experience allows you to describe your role in the research work and you cant do that when citing your published work. Thanks @michaelfaraday8391 for your ?
Thanks for so much of useful information. I have 2 questions: 1) In the experience section while we describe the roles and responsibilities do we also need to add a line as to how that key characteristic that we chose was fulfilled through that experience? 2) In the education section the column which asks about the gap do we need to say a yes only if that gap was due to non academic or any unprofessional behaviour. If it was due to some other personal reasons do we need to say a no for it. Any insights into the above would be helpful. Thanks
1) You don't have to explain how the key characteristic was fulfiled through the experience. Thus you will not see that in my examples in the webinar. 2) Its very difficult to answer your question with the little info you provided. I have explained extensions and interruptions in this video at time point ruclips.net/video/njpxWimyxE0/видео.htmlsi=xA60YlXomRktyQRm&t=2411 . Thank you @aakritiaggarwal-ek6kt for your ?
Was Uzair also a student of Ed4med
No, he wasn't. Thanks @bilalbashir for your ?
With regards to LOR, can I reuse one of the LOR from last match? Here is Dr Agrawal's response: "Thank you for your ? - yes you can reuse the LOR from the previous application season. Some applicants reach out to the attending to get an updated letter with the same content and a more recent date of LOR- that's the most one can do if the attending is willing to do so. Good luck!"
Excellent video. I had a doubt pertaining to the research section. Im one of the authors of a paper that has been presented in the form of a poster at multiple conferences/events. I did not present this poster although my name is present on the poster as an author. Can I include it under the poster presentation section?
Absolutely yes! Being a coauthor in this poster, you can certainly include this poster presentation(s) in ERAS. Congrats and Good Luck for #Match2025. Thanks @dhruvgandhi2409 for your ?
@@ed4medus thank you

This is extremely helpful. Thank you, doctor.
Glad to hear @ancy_58 that you found my video to be valuable!
Best video I’ve ever watched, Dr Agarwal for old graduates should they merge experiences in one box, like 4 observerships in one box and 2 externships in one box
It's not possible to group the US Clinical experiences as each 'Organization', 'Start , end date' and 'City, State' is very likely to be different for each clinical experience. You will need to prioritize which observerships/externships you will be including among the 10 experiences and which ones will need to be left out (if you have >10 such experiences). Thanks @bilalbashir for your ? and glad you found my video to be valuable!
Thank you for your response. I appreciate that wholeheartedly. I’m a graduate as far back 2019 and have no connection with my medical school. Can I still use my medical school as the “organization “ in reference to a research as my experience?
It's best to use the name of the institute you were at when you did the research study or where the data was collected from. I don't see any major problem using the med school name especially if your mentor/senior author in your paper is also from your medical school. Good luck @michaelfaraday8391 for your ?
Thank you so much! This video has been very useful to me for filling out my ERAS application so far. I have a question I would like to ask, please. I did my MD in Biochemistry in India (2012-2015). During that time, I completed two studies-one for my thesis (a part of which I presented orally at a state conference) and a second short study, which I presented as a poster at a national conference and resulted in a publication in 2014. Can I mention the publication, oral presentation, and poster presentation in my ERAS CV under the respective sections? The study, presentations, and publication were requirements for my MD Biochemistry.
Here's my updated ERAS CV video for #Match2025 ruclips.net/video/njpxWimyxE0/видео.html . Coming to your question, yes you can certainly include your oral, poster and publication under the appropriate 'Publications' section. Thank you @shwetavenkatesh for your ?
@@ed4medus Thank you very much for your response.
If we are a group of students who come together to publish an abstract, can that be a research experience? And if yes, how do i write my "position title" and the organization?
Here's my updated ERAS CV video guide for #Match2025 ruclips.net/video/njpxWimyxE0/видео.html . Let's continue future conversation there. Coming to your question, there is no definite rule against including this as research experience, with position as ' research author' or 'lead investigator' as appropriate. Organization would be your medical school. Also be prepared to field questions in the residency interview about doing the research with limited or non-existent mentorship (if true to your case). Thanks @michaelfaraday8391 for your ?
if i have a recent experience as a clinical medical assistant can i include it as education or experience? thank you.
Pls refer to the updated ERAS CV video for #Match2025 that you can watch at ruclips.net/video/njpxWimyxE0/видео.html . Clinical medical assistant position can be included as experience (not education). Thanks @michaelfaraday8391 for your ?
@@ed4medus thank you. What about an externship clinical medical assistant?
@@michaelfaraday8391 I am not sure what 'externship clinical medical assistant' is - here's what ERAS recommends: Experience Type: Education/training (includes clinical training such as clerkships, away rotations, subinternships, structured observerships). Military service. Professional organization (includes societies, associations, etc., at the local, regional, national, or international levels). Other extracurricular activity, club, hobby (includes sports, music, theater, student government, etc.). Research. Teaching/mentoring (includes paid teaching positions such as high school teacher as well as teaching assistant, tutor). Volunteer/service/advocacy (includes unpaid experiences). Work (includes paid clinical, nonclinical, business, or entrepreneurial experiences).
@@ed4medusthank you
Thank you for your response. After training as a medical assistant we’re required to get some clinical hours before our certificates can be released to us. It’s a kind of internship but they refer to it as externship. I don’t know if I can refer to it as internship or externship. Also I studied for a diploma in nursing and worked as an RN before going to the medical school even though it wasn’t a prerequisite for medical school admission. Can I talk about that as a premedical school education in that section of the application? Can I also talk about my work as an RN if it happened many years ago? Thank you.

Great information Doc! As always.
Glad it was helpful @strongDr !
Hello sir, great video. All this is research work but what is the process for someone who don’t want to be involved in research and just practice as a clinician? And is an Indian.
If one doesn't want to take the EB-1 route, then employer sponsored EB-2 is an option - though waiting times for applicants from India is still very lengthy. Do check with your immigration attorney. EB-1A is a self-sponsored approach (and I also had approval of university-sponsored EB-1B) - for me, the effort was worth it. Thank you @neeldoshi25 for your ?
Thank you for the great talk. Is there a minimum number of publications and citations?
Unfortunately, no one knows. Also, it's the quality of the work (published in high impact factor journals) as I alluded in my video that matters more than the number of publications-citations. At best, you can use the info I shared to know the upper limit of publications-citations needed. Good luck and thanks @Muh.AlaaMoukhtarHammad for your ?
Want to know is rotation in different states or in city really affect for matching or getting interviews
If you are able to do so, then go for it but I do not believe that matters a huge deal. Good Luck and Thanks @milanpatel7283 for your ?

What is considered low step 1 score?
No one knows - It's subjective. Even more difficult to say as Step1 result is now pass/fail. IMO, I like to ask about a residency applican'ts USMLE score if its very close to the pass mark.
