Glad to see there are attorneys out there who specialize in prenup, and will help you write it. In California it has swung so far to one side that it can mean slavery and financial ruin for one of the spouses. Tremendous disincentive to getting married.

I know these videos take a lot of time, energy, cost and they are too short, not enough info. One of my fav resource every was an Iowa law firm that put up a sample prenup. Run us through a mock prenup. Just and idea.
Thanks for suggestion Jan. However, since prenups are so specialized and unique, running through a sample prenup may only be relevant to a small amount of my audience. If anyone wants to know how a prenup can assist their specific situation, scheduling a consultation is always the best option.
@@theprenupguy I am getting there on the consultation. I am gathering docs I need for overseas spouse visa then the prenup (all before marriages). The sample prenup was just about houses and retirement accounts (like couple in their 50s or 60s). I appreciate the reply.

Solid reasoning
This “stay at home” thing… When I had one child, I juggled and worked. My husband did chores and such, but I did 80% of the work with the child and the home, while also working full-time. When I had our second child, I stayed at home for a few years. One day, my husband asked me when I was going back to work, and I said when we can afford to replace me in the home, child care, managing the house, providing the meals… Meanwhile, I worked for his business practically for free from home. So we would’ve had to pay someone to do what I was doing for his business as well. I can’t tell you how many people asked me why I didn’t work.
If her career is dishwashing and his career is a rockstar then she doesn't deserve half. Context matters. If she gave up her career as a singer then she would have a case for half.
It doesn’t matter what her career is, there are certain individuals who can make twice as much in their career because they have the support at home. Not all, but a good number. I am wondering what your value is on a parent staying at home managing the household and raising kids? If you hire people to do each of the parts of that, do you know what it would cost per year?
It's really depends on the circumstances, and what her career would have been like. Also, it depends on what role she is playing in order for him to become a rockstar - all of those factors come into play.
I wouldn't have those kids if it weren't for the spouse.
Divorce finalized 11/2015. Norwalk Court, case #vd079698. (Norwalk doesn't do family law anymore, case moved to Whittier) I signed over the 2 House's, The Deed, The Title to her. With $3000 a month +- income. (that's 8 years) I went to my bank to buy a duplex & they said, "you owe $160,000" on Lakewood = I can't qualify for a loan. = She needs to re-fi , or do an assumption from Wells Fargo. I have had WF send her the loan papers. But, She already declined to re-fi. = I need to file a Motion to Modify the Judgement to say, Petitioner Must Re-Fi within 30 Days.
I signed a prenup before my marriage. The prenup indicates my husband and I would keep our income as separate property. We live in California and we have married about 17 years. My husband has had affaire for 8 years from now and he brought the women home recently. I want to devoice. My question is: would I get ant shared property from husband even if we have prenup? My husband earns about $1.25 millions per year and I earns less than $100k per year. Thank you.
Can I have a prenup stand up in court where all my assets are protected from reallocation due to my divorce?
You can if your wife is already rich otherwise the courts will consider it unfair and throw it out.
What if neither had an attorney? How do I prove that 7 days rule?
The agreement should state the date that the last final agreement was presented so that it can be cross checked with the date the parties signed the agreement. If not, hopefully there is a paper trail of emails that will show when the final agreement was presented and confirmed to be final by both parties.

A prenup isn’t about not trusting your partner. The same way you’ll need to talk to your partner about children, religion, politics, intimacy and hobbies to see if you’re compatible, I believe a successful relationship should also involve a conversation about money, financial roles and responsibilities, and financial expectations. Otherwise, you’re going into a legal relationship (with its own default laws, whether or not you have a prenup) blindly.
