Moderato, G major pg 15. Melodious and Progressive Studies for Flute---October 22, 2024

I made the mistake of playing the single eighth note too short when it was meant to be long and accented. That led to a lot of cracking. It got resolved in my lesson however when my prof pointed it out. Very repetitive etude this time around😴

I liked the openness of my throat and tone overall in this one and the runs were pretty easy. Need to make sure I dont speed up without a metronome however. oops👻👻

This time around Im really trying to focus on making my tone ring more and get my staccatos more separated with the help of my core. Trills could be more consistent with the fingers. But all in all I think I was able to open up my air. Also stay tuned for french horn stuff😀😀😀
Trumpet playing test for brass tech--- September 23, 2024

Twinkle twinkle little star was our playing test for our first high brass unit. Although I was hoping to learn more scales and music on trumpet, I realize we simply wouldnt have enough time to cover anymore than the basics of making sound and the concert b flat scale with the two 50 minute classes a week schedule. We also had to do our first mini teaching demos and write mock lesson plans for b...

I just gotta work on phrasing and getting rid of my slidey fingers. I did enjoy that middle section though, it was a good break from all the runs🤩 Thanks for watching👻

Working on this waltz etude this week. Its helping me work on phrasing and attention to my vibrato placement throughout the piece. However, I would like to work on enhancing my dynamic contrast more. Enjoyyyy ^._.^

I revisited this etude from last week to work on the middle E flat fingering without the first finger down. Im pretty sure I got most of them although I couldve missed a few bc I simply dont notice when they go by so quickly. Theres still some funky timing and breathing hiccups when the sixteenth note runs go by. I also want to work on my finger height and keeping it lower on the instrument. Wa...

Left Hand Scale Pattern Scale Exercise---September 18, 2024

This is a rough mini explaination of the left hand scale pattern exersize I was recently introduced to that works your left hand dexterity, embouchure, and air control. I am encouraged to rep this exercise for a little bit every day to work on my tone and embouchure. I think its an easy way to introduce people to harmonics, warm up your face, and really be aware of the muscles and movements you...

Could still do more finger work in the sixteenth note runs. Prof noted the importance of getting more quick breaths to get me through the main melody without losing air support, for example right after the quarter note followed by the eighth note pickups into the next phrase. Same thing as last time LIFT FIRST FINGER FOR E FLAT🙏🙏🙏

i wanted to try out posting some of the things I'm doing at Towson right now like my weekly explanation videos for my Brass Techniques class. I don't have any editing experience and also filmed my videos on my phone vertically so this is not a masterpiece. However if I do continue posting here maybe it will help document my progress both on my MUED instruments and flute which is my primary ofc....
Better than most horns lol
im just THAT good😏
You seem to do so well with playing the flute.
You seem to do so well with playing the flute. Do you know any gospel songs? If so, can you play one? That's only if you know any gospel songs.

Thanks. By the way, what brand of flute are you doing the demos? Also, would you recommend learning standard fingering first, before doing harmonics?
Hey. I'm using a Yamaha YFL 362 open hole. And Yes, you should definitely learn standard fingerings before starting harmonics. These exercises are meant to strengthen your embouchure muscles and overall tone with the help of easier fingering alternatives, so you aren't focusing so much on the tuning and correct fingerings, but rather reaching those harmonic intervals with the appropriate amount of airspeed and support. You should be using the standard fingerings in your regular music unless indicated otherwise. Harmonics are also pretty out of tune compared to the standard fingerings!
@@kseniaantipova945 Thanks so much for the response. I am a newbie to playing a flute.
Thanks for the video. Pretty interesting approach. 👍😎. By the way, could you give as some embouchure/ aperture tips to hit those high registers like you did?🤔🤔🤔🤔
trying to unlearn the first finger down on e flat is so brutal. Sound amazing!
incroyable!
AYY period you always devour 🔥🔥
Amazing flow and flexibility :0
