Installing a Battery, Like the Pros at the Parts Store 🤦♂️
Probably smacked a curb trying to drive over sometbing can see concrete dust in the tire in question
So customer informed us after given the estimate that they made a u turn and hit the curb
Possible a bad front end frame damage repair and not replacing suspension parts could be maybe 😂
That's exactly how my right tire looks I think it's my control arm that's bent
Ask them how long ago they smacked something that didnt want to move with their wheel.
Put it on the lift and show us a bent controller arm
Why new cam gear?
The back of it is damaged from the rubbing on the sensor
This is exactly what I have going on with my car right now 2019 Honda Odyssey. And I’m out of warranty 😢
@andrescardenas2614 sorry to hear that. This repair will need to be done on your car to prevent damage to the entire engine
Thaks for the video. Cranksshaft pully and camshaft pulleys rotate independantly? Your method is so easy. Then Why youtubers do the timing marks by rotating crankshaft and trying to sync the timing mark? thanks.
They rotate independently when there is no belt connecting them. I’m not really sure to what RUclipsrs you are referring to but I always line the timing marks up before taking off the belt. The only reason to try to “sync” up the marks would be if the engine was getting new heads and a valve adjustment was not yet performed.
@@con_Auto Hi, I started replacing my 2015 Honda Odeaasy following your video. But I turned the camshaft a bit no more than1 tooth then camshaft turned abruptly 70degrees clockwise with some metallic ding sound. Now I am at a loss what to do. 1.Can I rotate the camshaft back to TDC position by turning back totiming mark ? clockwise? 2.Is the sound a bad one? anything broken inside? 3.New belt was to tight impossible to put it on. You said timing is a problem. I dont know what to do. Thanks
@@atoz20001 you need turn it back to top dead center make sure the timing marks are all lined up before putting the belt back on. Make sure to rotate back it back the way it rotated. Do not try to force the cam as you can damage a valve.
@@con_Auto Thanks a lot.
For 2016 Honda according is firing order the same ? 1-3-4-2?
Yes it is
Thanks for the video! I believe this is something I can tackle. I have a 2013 Honda Civic that is my daughter’s car. It all of a sudden got really low on power. Took it to the shop to check fuel pressure and back pressure with no issues there so I’m not sure what it is since there is no codes popping. Maybe it needs a valve adjustment. What are your thoughts? Thanks again.
What do you mean they checked back pressure? Have your local shop check the catalytic converter to see if it’s clogged and also check for misfires. As there are the two things I know off the top of my head that can cause a loss of power. If it’s valve adjustment check the map sensor for .88v.
Wow, just wow
Looks A) broken and B) COMPLETELY DRENCHED
Awesome video! Saved me $500 easily. Directions were spot on. Thanks!
at 0:25 you disconnect a hose from the intake duct connecting to the throttle body, i have an 02 gs300 and for some reason theres no hose there just a cap held on by a clamp, do you know what part that is n if it is importantcuz i can only assume its never had one since the lady who had the car before me definitely wasnt a mechanic
I do not know I don’t have the car anymore. I would assume it goes to the valve cover.
Hey thanks for the video it was a huge help!
Thank you I’m glad it helped!
Timing chain tensioner
Vtc actuator
@@con_Auto got it thank you for the correction
Axle i gotta change mines this weekend
Boot
Gotta a miss fire hopi g it's this
Great Job!!! What would be the cost at the dealer ?
Anywhere from $1200-1800
@@con_Auto ok thanks
At what mileage did you replace your water pump? was it failing? Leaking or anything?
I replaced at 100k miles for preventative maintenance
@@con_Auto did you change belts and thermostat and altenator?
I change the belts too. I did not to the alternator or thermostat at the time.
Hi I replaced the mounts by new ones the car still vibrating the mechanic asked me to drive the car some time to the mounting become softer is that correct???
Did u buy a factory motor mount?
The mechanic bought it as brand new
@fathisalemabshina1758 but was it a Honda part?
Yes
All the mounts that were replaced are factory parts? How does your engine run? No misfires? How many miles on the car?
Engine coolant temperature
That’s the sensor but why does the voltage change
@con_Auto you can touch anything with a meter and on different settings you will get different readings . No go make a car that use water for fuel . And stop wasting time
Your comment shows you clearly understand how a multimeter works
@@con_Autothere is a loose wire, as he touches it he is closing the circuit and when he removes hand voltage lowers showing reduced load. Because of a bad wire👍🏽
Hi, what model year is this Odyssey? Thanks!
2018
GREAT VId! Do you know where i can get these parts at?
I usually get factory parts as I’ve run into fitment issues with aftermarket ones
Hi. I have expirienced , some vibration when at traffic light or stop, at idle. I feel it on brake pedal as well. Can this be motor mount ?and which one - there 3 on engine and 2 on transmision i think. Or i need to clean , valve with some Gdi cleaner , to help with rough idle. Thanks
Try checking your side motor mount. Take a flashlight and simply pull up the rubber on the mount to see if it is cracked or leaking
@@con_Auto dont see any crack or leak .
Excellent video. Thank you for getting to the point.
Spark plug
Vtc actuator
When you said, “I’ll do the rest of the engine” what did you have to do? Did you adjust cylinder 3 in the same top dead center as cylinder 1? Did you spin the cam gear 90 degrees more to do each of the other three? Those are the important details I was hoping to learn.
Yes I did number 1 as an example and then rotate 90 degrees for the next cylinder. And so on
@@con_Autoso everyone u did it also had to be top dead center?
@@Proscalecrawler yes each cylinder has to be top dead center. Or at least both cam lobes pointing up
Thanks for the video really appreciate it. I have a question. I have a 2017 Honda Accord hybrid with 80,000 mi. There's no leak on the head cover gasket. Should I do the valve adjustment check or just leave it for now?
@ogrodnik8315 I think you should just wait until you have 100,000 miles especially if it is not leaking. Make sure you look up the valve adjustment specs are they may be different
Question ...When Your Van broke Down ,Did it Break Any other Internal Parts Besides The Timing Belt ,I was Told That Hondas ,on That Type of MOtor ,When You Are Driving IT And The Timing Belt Breaks ,it Will Damage Other Internal Parts ,Like The Valves and Pistons .I Have A 2016 Honda Odyssey With a Timing Belt Tensioner Making A Loud NOise and Its Not Supposed TO BE Driven ,is That True ?
On this engine if your timing belt breaks you will need to have the valves replaced.
Vcm
Hey can you help with a video on how to open the door my latch won’t open and door is stuck ! I don’t know if i need to the the motor or something with the latch i have a 2018 odyssey touring!
Hey buddy I don't know how to message you but however I was going to see if you would have ever replace the sunroof motor in this car? I'm trying to get the headliner down in the front and I can't get it down because the two lights and the sunroof operator in the front will not pop down after I take out the two Phillips screws I'm stuck at this point by the way I figured out all the motors that operate the windows add this car have three screws mounting the motor to the regulator Honda did not put any threadlocker on these little bolts and they have caused a problem I have took all my window regulators out of all the windows on this van just like this one and put those three screws back in with threadlocker and torque them down and they all work perfectly now. I'm trying to get to the sunroof one because it melts the motor of the same way and I can't get the headliner down.
In the front
You need to remove the overhead handles and the sunvisors for the headliner to come down. Be careful as the headliner can easily become creased. Let me know if this helps you out.
Will do the problem I'm having is getting the light s and switches in the middle to coome down after I take out the two Phillips screws I'm stuck there I thought maybe I would be able to get a visual on the motor from there
@@THUNDERGARAGE423 have you removed the cover for the lights? There should be screws under there
I'll give it a try I just hope the whole entire headliner doesn't have to come down lol
On which miles or kilometers happened that issue ?
This happens after about 80k-100k miles.
Hello, I'm planning to do it on my 2013 Accord. I have few questions if you can answer 1. Is there anyway I could turn cam other than using the wheel. 2. Can you share any guide how to allign the cam after the 1st cylinder for 3,4 2nd? Thanks
The engine is best to be rotated through the fender line Turning the crank. Set engine to tdc and rotate 90 degrees. Each 90 degrees is tdc for next cylinder in firing order Hope that helps
@@con_AutoNoted. Thank you very much.
@@con_Auto And one more thing, is there any torque specifications for the intake and exhaust nuts to be tightend?
@vimo1133 10lbft
@@con_Auto thank you......
Hi where can I get the valve flat head screwdriver tool u are using what’s it called or can I just use a regular flat head? TIA
You can use a regular flat head with a 10 mm wrench. The tool I am using is a Honda factory tool.
petroleum causing it to swell and deform
No just wear and tear.
What’s the torque spec, for replacing the bolts for valve cover then vanity cover? What if I break the one spiky bolt with the mushroom sticking out of the top?
I would say about 15ft lbs If you break that bolt then the high pressure fuel pump cover will not be able to be installed
I still prefer the mk2
good work, man
Appreciate it!
Going to do this tomorrow! Thanks!
Would you by chance know a part number that i can use to find that specific sensor?
I do not sorry
Heads up guys on the right side you have to loosen the rear evaporator housing to access the rear bolts
How do you know if u need to adjust the valve and what mileage usually this is recommended?thanks for the tutorial
Typically when an engine reaches 100k miles you should adjust the valves. Waiting to adjust the valves will cause random misfires.
At this time spark plugs replacement is a must also…thanks
Yes but replacing spark plugs is very easy
Hi had to re watch this again. When u grab the rockers and there’s still play. Is that mean the valve still need to be adjusted or it’s done already? I think u didn’t mention about that part at all
@leetos.4915 the rocker should still Have play even after adjusting the valve
Will it help my car start again
You will probably need a new battery if it’s not starting
Plz share from where this noise same noise I got
Under the rear seats. One bolt was loose
This is the only Earth Dreams valve inspection video I could find. I have a '15 CR-V and tried yesterday to do this. I couldn't get past disconnecting the plug on the AC compressor. It's extremely difficult to disconnect and for me it was impossible because of the limited access and the plug was "one of those" that just WILL NOT release. The project turned into a spark plug replacement only. I am loathe to the idea of paying someone to do this job because I don't trust "pros" to do a job right, like actually waiting for a cold engine and actually performing the inspection. I've just seen too many times when they can't even do an oil change right. I may cut the AC wires and add a connector to make the job possible for me. Sorry, just venting.
I have a '15 CR-V as well. Its a pain to get to the connector, but I would try using a longer flat head screw driver and it could help loosening the connector. I know after a couple swear words I was able to get it out.
@@FJBandFkMAGA Only a FEW swear words? I've tried some small tools as well. No luck yet. Cutting will be my last resort. Thanks for the tip!
@@stevemullens7937 you could remove the front grille to give more access. Also could try from down below.
I would also suggest trying to get the connector from the bottom. Personally cutting connectors is not an option but do what you need to do. I suggest pushing. The connector all the way in with a long screwdriver and then push the tab down with the same screwdriver and use either a pliers or someone with skinnier arms to pull the connector off.
@@con_Auto The only way I'll get to it from below is to remove the lower panel below the radiator and I haven't investigated how, but I'm pretty sure the rear bumper has to be removed to make that happen. That's how much I trust automotive engineers. They seem to design cars with a hatred for service personnel.
Excellent video. Easily understood the instructions and visuals. Thank you for sharing. 😊
Thank you I appreciate that!
It’s your blinker fluid that’s low Or cv axle
Whenever I need to replace this mount on my 2015 Accord I will refer back to this video. Thanks.
That’s awesome I appreciate that!
