Great video, your voice is perfect for the topic. Constructive criticism: maybe turn up the volume a bit on the clips from the movie. 👍
This movie is an underrated masterpiece.
Great movie. It’s unfortunate that not more people know about it. It’s a great reimagining of the source material.
I always appreciate more people finding ways to enjoy this truly beautiful movie. If it just wasn't for that damned robot.
There's two types of people: people who love Treasure Planet, and people who haven't watched Treasure Planet.
Treasure planets failings were almost entirely marketing
The film was released at the same time as Gangs of New York, Die Another Day, Santa Claus 2, and Harry Potter 2.
One of the many animations that fueled my desire to create what I am currently. There's so many things in my life that drove me into this direction... Just can't contain this dream anymore.
Imagine going to jail in 2000 and getting out in like 2015 and seeing all these Disney movies that came out. It would be wild.
I love treasure planet reminds me of my relationship with my dad when I was growing up.
I just watched it. It's amazing. Especially the music. It has a Touch of 1950s Pirate movies. It's very subtile. I lkned the Action scenes the best. And the relationship between Jimmy and Silver. It totally doesn't feel line a Disney movie. It's a Don Bluth movie, made by Disney.
Great video, man, nice accent! Are you from Ayrshire ? Subscribed X
Thank you very much :) Actually a little further north east. Near edinburgh! Where you from?
@@TheDrBug oh nice! I am near Glasgow 🤗!
@@shadowm2k7 Oh very nice :) Not too far at all then..😌
Glad this vid showed up in my feed, you got a sub👍
I find your accent a bit too strong to understand much if not most of what you are saying :/
Apologies brother. In the midst of tweaking audio in order to get a lot crispier sounding. Hoping that helps somewhat. Where you from if you don’t mind me asking? :)
@@TheDrBug US pacific north west. May return the question? I may not understand them all but I enjoy learning about various British accents and locations.
That's sweet man! Scotland here. I understand the accent can be a bit tricky lol, but I agree. Accents are amazing.
Wonderful video, I enjoyed it a lot! Thank you so much for your work! <3
I watched the film for the first time a few years ago, wow it dissapoints me this movie "flopped" its honestly very deep & thought provoking. Cant say that about alot of current media.
I always hold a special place in my heart for this movie. It was a very unique and well written masterpiece and it has always and forever will be in my memory.
This movie gets hate???
Monsters Inc. didn't come out in 2007! Hack! lol
You see some Monsters clearly had their otigin in the Desihn of the Pirates 🏴☠️
The romantic ideal of the pirate wouldn't exist as it currently does without Long John Silver from the original Treasure Island and John Silver from Treasure Planet is an even better version of the character in my opinion.
Which hate ? I for real never Heard Someone thrashing this movie they Always say its Underrated but never Heard hate
I had never heard of it and I got tons of Disney Merchandising as a kid
Which hate ? I for real never Heard Someone thrashing this movie they Always say its Underrated but never Heard hate
"Killed 2D Disney" it's nonsense.
This video deserves WAY more views and likes.
My man, Treasure Planet is the best. While girls have their stories of princess', us lads have a tale abour adventures, and fathers. This video hits any boy close to home. As someone born at sea and with wanderlust, this is MY movie.
its underated
Tresure planet dosent really have a victorian style, its more 18th century to napoleonic. Tho it has alot of steampunk vibes, that i can agree with.
17th century power structures, 18th century aesthetic, 19th century living conditions and 22nd century technology. It’s such a unique combination, the only piece of media I can think of that comes close is Rogue Galaxy on the PS2.
This was a great video essay. I'll be watching Treasure Planet again!
Seriously why did this movie flopped.
I don't think Disney knew how to market a non-princess movie at the time. Also Disney was still seen as a little girls or kids brand at the time I remember.
Disney was trying to kill off the 2D animation too
@@1simo93521 The film was released at the same time as Gangs of New York, Die Another Day, Santa Claus 2, and Harry Potter 2.
I actually don't like the theory that Silver is Jim's father that left. The meaning of the story is finding a father figure in someone else, someone that didn't abandon him. If Silver is actually John's father, it would go against everything the movie is trying to say.
I don't like that idea at all. Having Silver be just some random guy who took up the fatherly mantle means so much more thematically
You're right!
@@Drifter2025 Thank you
This came up in my timeline after I rewatched the movie because I was looking up the soundtrack. I used to defend to the death that Silver was Jim’s father, but now I think it works better without that implication.
If he was Jim's Dad, which I also hate the idea of, the whole "Didn't your old man teach you to pick your fights better?" Conversation is mute, because Silver would know what he did and that'd just be pointless to ask
On an off topic..... You sound a lot like the "Critical Drinker"! Same neighborhood, perhaps?! 🤔🫡😎 🏴
Hes's a bit further up north ;) but i got family up there...🤷♂️ Where are you from brother?
Critical Drinker Sounds like he made a few Videos for a template and finde then everything is AI. He ALWAYS Sounds the same, it's either human Perfektion of repeating a boring pattern or not that good AI.
Great vid! Little tip, it's really difficult to hear the bits where you play clips from the movie, sound is dialled ALL the way down for some reason, your voice is fine tho.
Thanks for the feedback brother! In the process of fixing audio up for future vids :)
great video man i love seeing analyses of this movie!! even with all the sleeper love it gets its still far too underrated. ❤
As a total simp for this movie I consider it a Heavenly blessing whenever this movie is recognized for its worth.
As someone who’s lived this movie while idolizing it as a kid it’s something else
Congrats, this is a great video, I’ve just made a tattoo from treasure planet and you described most of the reasons that I made it!
great content keep going brother, you've just gained a subscriber
You sir have sixteen subscribers and make youtube essays as good if not better than sunnyv2 in my opinion. Keep going no matter what.
Got no idea how much I appreciate comments like this. Thank you brother! Means a lot :)
That is beautiful you stated many things I felt throughout the movie. It’s also my favorite and very relatable and gives me courage. The movie is not hated it’s just widely unknown unlike other due to poor marketing and release date to other more popular movies and sequels of the time. I still have the dvd and Disney plus in Greece doesn’t have which saddens me. Disney set it to fail to find an excuse to the cheaper 3d animation which it worked but was it worth the cost? This movie deserves more love and appreciation and recognition despite its Oscar nomination.
I only heard ybout it one time at an Art Channrl where sn Artist made a painting of it and one short Documentary about the CGI used. I just watched it tonight. I LOVE it! 😭💎🫡💫
CGI isn't cheaper, especially back than. It costed Disney A LOT but the Programms they developed paved the way for their biggest Hits to come
Great and insighful. Keep up with the quality brother. Kudos.
You’re a legend brother :) I appreciate it, stay tuned ❤️
As you know, your videos are very underated. Trying to make your voice be: more vocal, more mouth movement, and more emotion-rich. People are by nature, dependent on the feeling of something, to then judge it. Currently, your editing is "the" top quality, but your voice gives the impression of: depressed, insecurity, annoyance, etc - this is not an insult, rather advice. Have a joyous day, and may you be properly be guided to the sound way. Good luck.
Really appreciate everything you’ve said brother. Any feedback is good feedback :) taking notes on all that you’ve mentioned! Have a blessed day, thank you :)
this was a really interesting watch, i enjoyed it:)
Video is ok
Bro super underrated, keep this effort, one day u will be among the giants of video essays
Thank you brother, means a lot :) that’s the goal ❤️
Great video ❤
Nice video!
Thank u brother :) tryna get better
Charlie Chaplin would be characterized by a trained learning theorist as a young person shaped by being supported by his mother just enough to grow up in a stress-inoculated resilience situation. The stress in his youth did not destroy his brain wiring but compelled him to be extremely persistent in life. The writer of this narrative takes a stab at this concept but fails to inform the viewer of the scientifically well-documented concept defined above. His special beginning and his innate talent to entertain meant Chaplin had the mindfulness and poise above the fray of making movies to convey with rare wit and charm the sometimes-absurd characters he portrayed to the film audience. The spark of his talent grew into a flame when he found an opportunity and exploded into worldwide adulation when he began to have total control over how he could present his form of humor. Few creative geniuses in history have had the arc of change he enjoyed as a creative performer.
Beautifully put :)
