My abusive father used to sing me this song, he is a huge Beatles fan. Though when he’s sing it to me, he’d say “girl” and not “boy” and it meant so much to me. I couldn’t even think of this song after he left and caused so much trauma. I’ve come to peace with it now, I’m 17, 18 next July. This song makes me wish to be a kid again, one with a stable father. But that’s okay. I’m just glad I had one. Love you Lennon, RIP, you made my life 10000 times better

What a beautiful song John wrote for Sean. So sad Sean was only 5 years old when his dad was murdered. Fast forward 14 years later, my dad passed away 2 weeks before Christmas shortly after my 12th birthday at age 55. I miss my dad George to this day.
