Taping your US-Guided IV's
Просмотров 3,1 тыс.5 лет назад
Even if I work my fastest, it still takes me a few minutes to place my ultrasound-guided IV's. Because of this, I would rather not have to place multiple IV's when they pop out. I have a particular way of taping my IV's to make sure they don't come out. Check out my technique and let me know what you think!
Switch Probes 4 PTX
Просмотров 5155 лет назад
Its is absolutely necessary to switch to the linear transducer when looking for lung sliding (i.e., PTX)? While the linear will definitely give you the best image, watch this video to see my thoughts on using the curvilinear and even the phased array in the eval of lung sliding! While continuing to my work with revamping the Ultrasound Leadership Academy's curriculum, I had this thought. Maybe ...

Much the best tutorial on EPSS I've seen so far. I hear that peritoneal gas in the abdomen post-surgery is normal, and that its also one of the more painful parts (certainly with keyhole surgery) - do you know if there is a reason it can't be removed postclosure with a needle?
😊
nicely explained in short time... 👍
Amazing lecture!
Shame that there are no CME credits. These are very good.

Nice, thorough, video. For a horrible, annoying disease. 😁😭
PE is pulmonary embolism or blood clot in lung. “ N” is the number of people in a clinical study or the size of the population in the study. An N of 1 means the population in the study was only one person for example.
Thank you for this educational video. It will save lives.

Whats the brand of the stretchy tape?
i would never dip a transducer in water
why not? We use water based gel on them All the time :o It pretty much drowns in gel at a daily basis at my workplace. I have not encountered any probe that the tip or most part of the transducer is not made to survive water. You pretty much dip it in water every time you do any examination with it, arguably even worse since the gel leave that sticky dried thing afterwards. If it could get into the probe or do damage the equipment would deteriorate under normal use. Just dont dip the cord part. We even use water baths in the very beginning to practice with for needle postition and get a hang of the movement of the probe and needles/structures for surgery. The trick with water bath is an amazing tip.
Great work!!!! Question regarding the fluid for nec. fasc. - Are those numbers in the last study representative of: 1) how deep the TOP layer of the fluid is from the skin surface? OR 2) how deep the BOTTOM layer of the fluid is from the skin surface? OR 3) the thickness of the fluid space itself? Thanks Dr. Avila

This seems very effective as you are getting the median nerve before it branches off but slightly higher risk vs reward as opposed to wrist-based blocking.

Thanks for the video. I’ve been avoiding going to see the vein specialist, but now that you’ve explained the risks, I’m about to make an appointment. The pain was so bad last night, I was crying! My husband was going to call an ambulance!
