I am a bit confused by Hack's diversity program and schalorships based on diversity. All posted winners are majority white and Asian women. I have worked in tech for 10 plus years. I have seen plenty of Asian and white women in tech. Very few Native Americans, blacks and Hispanics from both genders. So I don't really see Hack making an effort by helping with diversity by never or rarely awarding scholarships to these peoples and giving the majority to white women. Who create the greatest microagression towards minorities in IT more so than men. Personal experience at every place I have worked. It kinda makes me angry since it appears to feed into systematic racism. Especially since debt is pushed on some of the telegraph materials, which is something I have an issue with for minorities as well. Just my opinion.

10x programmers are not a myth, I've met a couple. They're just rare. I pair programmed with one once and it was an eye opener.

The way Hack Reactor works is they only select people that are either already CS degree holders, have obviously high aptitude to learn or are programmers looking to up their skill in web technologies. In other words, they don't let anyone in that isn't a sure bet. That is how they keep their high job numbers up. If you want to know how to get into Hack Reactor the sure fire way is to already know how to program and then "pay-in" to their program soley to tap into the job network. You're Welcome.

I tried myself for the scholarship last November, unfortunately, no luck :) However, I am planning to apply for summer cohorts in 2018. One question though: is online bootcamp is rich in experience as in usual bootcamp? :)
