At times of the Faklands Brawl we ( SW) had only music this music Pat, 'cause in our country they ( our parents) were in a state of waiting for a miracle to come so it has come with jazz so beaut beyond words ( at that time in suspence) then when God heard our language we began to fight for the verse and still are busy in this very respekt. The first song that I had heard by Mays & Metheny. Brilliant! Was always so pleased to hear it on the best radio station in Portland, OR (KINK), when music stations were not so compartmentalized. R.I.P., Mr. Mays. Your brilliance across music, architecture and programming are amazing and the world has lost a great gift to humanity and it's music.

El primer álbum que escuche de Pat metheny fue precisamente este.. Y mi apego al jazz fusión fue instantáneo....músicos extraordinarios y sonidos hasta entonces inexplorados....luego vendrían experiencias similares con mahavishnu orchestra, Billy cobham, weather report, chick corea y muchos más .... Pero pat metheny tiene un lugar especial porque siendo un niño fue mi primera aproximación al jazz fusión y esos sonidos y viajes nunca más se fueron....un tributo al gran lyle mays...un super grupo the Pat metheny group.

Heard this as a freshman in college when it was brand new. It caught my Jazz + Rock sensibilities in a new way than current (at the time) Fusion had started and interest. This album creates a wonderful mood to enter a dream-like state. And a wonderful background for Pat's unique guitar playing.
