I realize it’s in the title, but containing passages from the Bible made for an interesting through line when discussing the themes of this game. This is an excellent and succinct analysis covering one of my favorite games this year. Amazing work!

Hi, quick question: what are your views on magic and sorcery in entertainment, considering that the Bible forbids such practices? I know that this game is a work of fiction, but I have heard people talk of how fiction can still subconsciously affect us in ways we may not want it to (spiritually or otherwise) without us even realizing it. With that said, how do you review such games?

Interesting video. I don't often come across stuff that tries to find intersections between video games and faith but this feels like one of the more successful ones. I am usually not one to just pick verses out of the Bible and try to apply them to things, but you did it in a pretty reasonable way. Honestly makes me want to pay the game just to see how I would handle the same task differently.

Wait, what's happening. Does this game contain passages from the Bible or is it the author's insert? You know that religions don't explain the human psyche at all, and we tend to plug modern ideas and discoveries into vague similarities found in ancient books. Wow, I really learned nothing from this work, shame

This is a solid video, with excellent pacing for the multiple themes you covered. It's a shame that you don't get that many views. It's not even preachy, and it covers the aspects of the bible that are on the "human condition" side of things. Also (as of this comment) congratulations on being the first individual to isolate philosophical concepts of this game outside of a regular review. I looked through just to verify and there is a sea of reviews. Which makes this video flying under the radar even more insane.

This was such an interesting topic to be discussed! I personally didn't think of morality, let alone anything within the Old and New Testament, while playing Practical Peach Blizzards. Anyway, hope you have a great day!

Nice video :) I'd only add that the game comes with a full documentation on how it was made, going from doing random prototypes to the finished product. That adds a lot of educational and cultural value for me.

Thank you so much for this! I’m a young Christian gamer and I see a lot of negativity towards it. And it gets me worried that my hobbies and enjoyment will send me to hell. Video games can definitely lead us to sin but that’s why self control is one of my favorite fruits of the spirit. And I’m so happy that you used persona 5 in your video, I love that game❤

Criminally underrated video

have to disagre with platforming being difficult. In this aspect Blind forest is more difficult. None of them are super dificult platformers to the level of celeste. The movement is more natural, fluid and more satisfyting than Celeste doe. Also have to diagreing with some aspects of the story because Ori games are more metaphorical than really wanted to tell a story at all. According to your rating I would give it genre gem since it is always battling at the top with Hollow Knight.

Why do you think the developers decided to include alussions to the Bible? From your point of view it is solething good or bad?

When the teaser for this game premiered back in 2016, there was a streamer, an indo asian fellow i believe, and when he saw normans character naked on the beach his imediate reaction was "Is this a jesus game? Is Kojima making a jesus game?" When you are aiming at something, specifically with art, you will inevitably find yourself emulating the biblical narrative. The heroes jpurney is woven into our dna. (Kojima needs a writer and an editor)
