Santa Claus Village & the Arctic Circle! - Summer vacation with our family.
This summer we had a visit from my brother and his husband and our little charmer of a nephew Adam.
It was a long drive from Kirkenes to Rovaniemi in Finland, but with nice company it went quickly.
Not much was filmed, but we got some good clips with Adam and the reindeers. We were so busy with everything else.

Rambua is an idyllically situated day-trip hut on Ramboghøjen with a beautiful panoramic view. We find wetlands with a rich bird life in a slightly hilly terrain. A family visit in Bergen gave us an opportunity to experience this small but beautiful Hike. A little wet and cold wind didn't stop us this time either.

Elna and I cycled from the center of Kirkenes to the dam which is located approximately in the middle of the Sandnes river. From there, the trip went on foot up to Bekktjørna. From where I grew up in Sweden (Dalarna), there is even an old word for this: Rätchekuta. That is what the cows do when coming out from the barn after winter. "Rätche" is basically a very old word for meadow and "kuta" is to run. So, rätchekuta is basically "Meadow running". I used to see it as a kid, and happy cows are simply great! <3
Cattle are beautiful animals. I love the springs in their hooves and swishing tails ♥

I think farm country’s should have a Happy Cow Week each spring! There could be little tour groups to go to several farms a day all week to see all the herds out of the barns! Sounds like fun to me!!!

Farming and ferries. Two very important things in all of Norway. And it still is. And many places you can see a bit of very old history. For some just junk for others art and a proof of a hard life.🥰
