I'm just a dude who likes music. I originally never planned to upload videos but I guess I found my niche with The Real People.
Genesis - Misunderstanding (Live in Norman)
This is a live recording from 19 January 1984 in Norman, United States. This is my personal favourite version of Misunderstanding. The band are on fire and Phil is absolutely KILLING the vocals! I couldn't find this performance on RUclips, so I uploaded it.

From the album The Fun Is (2006) Killjoy Confetti were an indie rock band from Muncie, United States. This is described by some to be the "standout track" on this album, and I have to concede if any track on this album is single material, it's this one. Short but sweet, infectious and groovy. Killjoy Confetti - Stanford Prison Experiment No. 2
Realies in their heyday in my humble opinion. Many thanks for the upload.
this one is written by liam if i remember correctly
Written by Noel.
@@MrXenon1994 thank you for the correction
@@MrXenon1994 I looked it up and in Tony’s book there’s this: “A few days later, we headed off to Abraham Moss studios in Cheetham Hill to complete our first demo as a five-piece. We recorded 'Colour my Life' and 'Take Me' but it was a shambolic session, as became evident when we slipped the tape into the van's cassette player on the way home. City Life reviewed the demo in their Christmas issue, though the reviewer wrote that he was not too excited by the band. Thanks for that. We each fired the demo around people we knew in the city. Noel told his contacts he was not even on the demo.” I’m confused, do you have other sources?
@@jiangya-y3e Noel was lying to his contacts. It was the first recording session as a 5-piece like you said, he was definitely there. Noel was in the band and writing by that time, and I'm quite sure he wrote this one. The songs Noel had nothing to do with were Alice, Reminisce and Take Me, which were recorded earlier in 1991 before he joined. Every source I've seen for 8 years claims it's a Noel-penned song, including Genius. I think the fact he played on it is a good indication that he wrote it, especially back then.
@@MrXenon1994 got it! Paolo Hewitt also said the same thing I believe you
BANGER
Absolutely Biblical, pre-maybe era is Heavenly, Liam's voice is from Heaven
wow
I’m wondering why Liam sounded so different back then. Why his vocal has changed.
This was recorded before Oasis went to Liverpool in 1993 to record their demo tape with The Real People. During that time the lead singer of the Realies basically coached Liam to sing less like Ian Brown and more like him, and helped develop Liam's signature vocal style.
@@MrXenon1994 thank you :)
When was this written.
1992 I presume.
Feel the pain was part of the 20 demos that the realies recorded in 1990. It also appeared live alongside other Marshmallow lane songs like Believer and Somehow fly in the same year. They planned to realise the song in 1992, but I'd guess that it was at least 2 years old by that point.
@@therealiesvault oh shit I thought this comment was on a different video LMAO, Yes you're right, 1990.
Its weird , tony and guigs sound better on these earlly recordings , especislly guigs
One of Noel’s later requirements for the band is they had to deliberately play simply, which is why on the band’s first three albums Guigs (or Noel) only plays root notes. Given how this is an early song that never escaped demo hell I’m assuming he had a bit more free reign on what to play or Noel wasn’t as bothered about the complexities of things. Same with Tony’s drumming
This is a very old song, not sure noël was involved in the creation. Like snake bite and 3 other pre oasis demo. They exist live too.
Noel was in the band by this time in 1992 and he wrote this song. The first tape from 1991 Noel had nothing to do with.
This is cool
If oasis did more stuff like this instead ot the whiny, crowd pleasing simplistic tunes that came during their peak, theyd have been a vetter band. Maybe not as successful, potentially. We'll never know.
now I want this one on a new album.
Is this a cover? So out if character for them.
This is a very early version of Oasis, before the recording of the Live Demonstration tape in Liverpool and the explosion of popularity. Their style, especially Liam's singing voice, was markedly different.
@@MrXenon1994 cool. Thanks for the information 👍
Un fucking real
that chorus is fucking mad, and considering liam wrote the song I think Noel gave him too much shit for his writing. should've been on a b-side atleast, wayyy too good to stay as just a demo.
I'm pretty sure Noel wrote this one? He was in the band and writing songs by this point.
👽🛸
彼らが評価されないのが理解出来ない。 知らなかった曲だが、やっぱり良いじゃないか !!
This is the way the song was intended to be heard. The Realies were too far ahead of their time and got lumped in with the shite baggy bands of the time. People say that guitar music was dead after the fall of The Stone Roses but The Realies were doing it 90/91 before the likes of Oasis who everyone credits for the resurgence of guitar music in 1994. Once again The Realies dont get they deserve but they're massive to me 🤷♂️.
Wow! Better vocals and sound than i expected for a 'Demo'! Cheers for sharing!
This song is very psychedelic ❤
This is not liam is he?
Yes, it is Liam.
@@MrXenon1994wow sounds very different, he seems Ian Brown, no surprise. Thanks mate, never heard this song before from a big oasis fan
@@gabrieleguglielmotto5122 Yeah man, this was back when Liam was basically trying to sound like Ian Brown. In 1993 they went to Liverpool to record the Live Demonstration tape, that's where Chris Griffiths basically taught Liam his signature singing style.
@@MrXenon1994 didnt know about that, thanks very much, there's Always something to learn, even after all the b-sides. i Will follow you for sure.

the best indie band of my time! I can't shake the thought of it almost 20 years later.
Oasis 💛・・❤
This could have been in the album easily
Noel mas a master.at.A sides but his demos Plan Bs were fkn awesome👌🏻🎶

Did this band have another album? I just found this from a wikipedia article, seems like a really niche band
I found out about this band from Wikipedia too! Once I found out that someone actually made a song about Genie, I had to find it. Killjoy Confetti released their first album, Into The Light, back in 2002 I think. The band were called Arcade back then. A different band named Arcade threatened to sue them so they changed their name to Killjoy Confetti and released this album in 2006, went on tour and broke up for good, if I recall correctly. I have not managed to get my hands on Into The Light, as much as it kills me to say. I want to hear that CD so fucking bad. But I do have their 2nd album uploaded in full.
@@MrXenon1994 I believe I just posted some of their stuff on my channel...I'm new at this. 🙂
I uploaded the first album on my channel 😊
@@PenelopeBeans You are a Godsend. Thank you so much! I've waited so long to hear these songs!
@@PenelopeBeans Thank you sooo... MUCH! I can't find my CD anywhere
Thanks for the upload, it's the only video i found with the song aside from live concert footage
A big part of me wishes Liam should release this song as a solo artist. Since he wrote this and other Liam-penned Oasis demos, it'd be nice if Liam returns to his old written songs.
Yeah, him and Bonehead should re-record these songs. Maybe update them a bit. I imagine them sung in Liam's current style and that is the key. Oasis made it because of Liam's new-found confidence and new vocal style. Sure, Noel's songs are brilliant. But it's Liam's vocals that made them stand out and made the band sound far bigger and better as well as unique compared to all the other bands of the time.
Noel wrote the music and words to this
@@TheDreamer1980 oh, great, I feel like a newbie even though I’ve only been a fan for exactly 30 years. 🤣 Thank you!!! Wow, I seem to learn something new about one of my absolute favorite bands of all time on a daily basis. 🤪 Cheers! 🍻
Amazing track
You can color my life…
Everytime when I hear this music, I remember of girl what I knew (knew this music by chance) and this girl is very beautiful, but unfortunatelly is committed. I have contact her, but never talk about interest and I think her everyday and all the time. If she wasn't committed, I say all the feel for her.
Hope you have fun with that beautiful shit weekend man scfc SK

The Realies are the best band to come out of Liverpool since The Fabs. Shame on Noel Gallagher for his behaviour towards the band after they gave Oasis a leg up. If Liam Gallagher had any sense, he’d collaborate with Tony & Chris instead of fucking around with likes of John Squire.
Anything by The Realies is Bonus
Colour My Life and See The Sun are masterpiences, dont know why that was never officially released
A Noel no le gustaban lo suficiente
Are we sure this is liam or oasis? Doesnt sound quite like them.
Yes, this is Liam Gallagher. He sounds different because this is 1992, when he sounded more like Ian Brown. It wasn't until 1993 when Oasis went to visit The Real People in Liverpool that Chris Griffiths taught Liam how to sing like he did for the rest of his career.
@@MrXenon1994 Right, thanks. Good track.
