whats the spot?
👏👏👏👏👍
Looks like a good spot
Wat een zieke zieke spot, was dit Maasvlakte/Slufter?
How about raptor boosting vs xr6 or orbit?
Which would you pick for gusty and overpowered conditions? Xr or orbit?
Both are excellent in those conditions. I am riding the Orbit at the moment because it has less bar pressure and does not feel very overpowered quickly, where the XR might feel a bit slower and tank-like in heavy conditions
@@marijnploeg6030 thanks for the reply, light bar pressure in rough conditions i think is a must, makes everything a bit more easy. I saw you riding the ss raptor on your other videos, but i guess i doesn't boost as well as the orbit neither has the same top end right?
Is this kite good for looping? Debating on whether or not to get a 9-10m raptor or RPM, I know both kites boost very well so I just want to get whichever is better for loops.
Hi Marijn, What do you think of the depower throw on the navigator?
Hi Marijn, i want to buy the North Orbit or the Core xr 6 in Size 8 . Which kite do you Prefer from the Overall Impression?
8m xr6 all day long
Hey Marijn! Thanks for the comparison videos (very useful). I am 90kg, good at helilooping and getting into powered loops. Where I live it is not too windy but every so often we get days with 20-23 knots ranging to 30+ knots (gusty!). I have been wondering between a 9m Pivot or a 9m or 10m Orbit. Seems the Pivot has better low end and many comment the Orbit catches you easier but likes to ride very powered. What is your take?
MrSpanishPeanuts powered loops are super fun an easy on the Orbit. Also the orbit is a lot more stable in gusty conditions. I will test the 2021 pivot soon also
@@marijnploeg6030 what do you think on sizing. 9 or 10m Orbit for 20-30 knots. On the 9m Pivot I do fine from 18 to 30 knots.
Pivot 100%
Hello There ! Which size is good fort 25-30 knots ? Im 180 pound ! 9 or 8 m ? Thank you
P-M Lefebvre 9m!
Hi Marijn, same question but for 70 kg? I guess a 8m and perhaps with a 11m? I am in between 11-9-7 or 11-8 combi for NL conditions with TT.
I want to buy this kite for mega loops, I’m 90 kilos. I also would like the 10 meter. How much do you weigh
Ryan Lee I weigh 80kg and could handle the 10m fine in 25-30 knots, it loops well just has a bigger pull than the 9m. The 10m can megaloop for sure but I always like a 9m for looping because its just a bit easier and I can hold the 9m even longer in stronger winds
Marijn Ploeg thanks for the reply..I’m living in Curacao so the wind occasionally gets to 25-30 knots. More times it gets to 25 than 30. Me being heavy I’m trying to find the perfect recipes for a mega loop kite. Power to get me high enough and a loop to catch me. Would you recommend the 10 orbit?
Ryan Lee yes in 25-30 the 10 is perfect for megaloops, the 10 will catch you in 25+ knots for sure!
Nice video again, fun to watch you boosting & looping! If I might bother you since you are killing it with all these different kites: How would you compare jump height and overall stability of the raptor vs pivot or the orbit? All seem to be such great kites. Would like to know your favorite for having a blast !
Raaz Pa. In my opinion the raptor is the most stable so far, Ive really enjoyed being able to tune the bridle settings to my preference and I had a few crazy 35-45 knots session last week and felt really comfortable with the raptor. The orbit is really really easy to jump but Ive had a few slip ups with frontstalls and unpredictability, same with the pivot. All three kites jump great but in really strong wind I prefer the Raptor!
@@marijnploeg6030 Thanks for the quick and in-depth reply! I've watched the kota replay and the pivot seemed to be more stable that the orbits, amazing for 3 struts! I have a great offer for raptors and pivots. Probably going for 12m pivot and 9m raptor. Or both raptor, don't know yet but after your reply I'll definitely get the raptor for the smaller size kite for gusty and strong winds.
Awesome video! I've just tested a 2020 Pivot in 12m and found it absolutely stunning but the outer wingtips were fluttering during loops. Does the 2019 Pivot do the same? In the "Welcome Ross to Naish"-Video you can see the fluttering at two occasions. Would love to buy a Pivot but maybe the Orbit is the better one for my 100kg? Thanks in advance, keep looping! :)
Raaz Pa. I havent noticed the pivot fluttering like that, but if youre looking for a stable kite, go for the orbit! And for your weight the orbit is fast for its size
Hey Raaz. I am sort of built the same as you and wondering what to go with betwen the Naish Pivot and the North Orbit. Question for you: have tested the 14m?
@@capitainedeplaisance2477 I went for a 2019 12m pivot in the end. Got a very good offer. No fluttering in 2019! Anyway I'd take the orbit if you like to go out overpowered. The pivot is stable enough due to the 10 psi but it becomes quite heavy on the bar when being at the limit and the conopy could use 2 more struts to be honest for 90kg+. I think the orbit would've been better for me but not almost double the prize better. 14m pivot is slower, more grunt but I couldn't really get more upwind with it or jump heigher. I think for bigger than 12m pivot, something like a 15m ozone edge is the kite to go!
Raaz Pa. thanks! I also think it depends on the average winds in your area. Where I live, it’s not that high so when the average kiter is in 12, I go to 14...
@@capitainedeplaisance2477 Absolutely. I'm located in northern Germany, plenty of good wind. I mostly grab the 12m pivot when most are riding 9's. I also frequently use my 17m Zephyr V5. Great kite with a lot of high end with 5 struts! Anyway, 14m Pivot isn't fun sadly... You don't gain anything from it against a 12m apart from getting dragged downwind.
what a Dream of a kite Spot. More of you killing it with the raptor !
what was the wind that day + gusts
Stephane Francis 28-33 knots!
Yeah wat een topsessie!
Did you try putting the xr6 to medium bar pressure settings and Reposition the flying lines to medium also? Which bar would you prefer the North or the XR? I have an XR5 12m and I want to add another 9 or 10 to my quiver, thanks
Geng2011isr Everything on the XR was on medium settings, i liked the grip of the north bar better but the swivel and simplicity of the core bar more. Hard to pick a favorite! Love that the core bar comes with so many line length options
what size?
Lucca Frieri 10m!
Cool vid, how did you like the Navigator Bar?
WorldWideRide liked it very much! Very comfortable and simple. Only thing I miss is a swivel on the safety line ring, I always fly semi suicide and dont like my safetyline to twist so much
Great video! How would you compare the two kites in terms of bar pressure, boost and looping?
Jean-Baptiste Marre The orbit had a bit lighter bar pressure and boost a bit more, gives more hangtime and is a more stable kite and the pivot loops fast and easy, is easy to feel the power when sheeting in.
Which of these two kites would you recommend for learning loops?
Great video, were they the same size ? How do they compare low end and high end range ?
VIKINGSFITNESS TV the orbit was an 8m and the xr a 9m. Did not test the real low yet but i think the orbit is a bit lighter. The high end of both kites is really good. Ide say the xr is more stable but more “steamboat” like while the orbit is also stable but a bit more swift
Marijn Ploeg so for a heavier rider would you say xr is more suitable?
VIKINGSFITNESS TV Not exactly, I would say if you are a heavy rider take the 10 orbit or 9 xr, the 10 orbit feels really good in 25-30 knots and is still super quick (another video on my channel)
Marijn Ploeg ok thank you, I’m on 2018 cabrinha switchblades, have you tried the 2018 or 2019 switchblades, if so how do they compare to that ? I will check out your other videos 🤙
VIKINGSFITNESS TV In my opinion the switchblade fits right in between these two kites, not as fast as the orbit and not pure boosting like the xr. I have ridden the switchblade as my main kite past year and havent found any kite more stable and reliable. No the switchblade is not the fastest 5 strutter or the biggest booster but its the kite that gives me the most confindence because of its predictability and ease of use!
Which boosts and loops better?
Christoph Jaidhauser they both loop good but the Orbit is just a bit faster and easier
Marijn Ploeg which one boosts better?
VIKINGSFITNESS TV the XR does boost a bit better
I see you ride a Naish KL board, is it best for boosting? What size you use and how it handles the chop? Also have you tried the Pivot? Where does it sit compare to the Orbit and XR regarding boosting and looping?
Dan Tanase the KL pro is very good for big air, really good in chop and you can build up as much power as you can handle. For me the board is just a bit to heavy, i had the 137 but i used to wooden Lieuwe boards wich are very light. The pivot is just a little faster than the orbit i would say, not a big difference. I did notice the pivot backstalls a bit weirdly sometimes and flys better when you depower it a bit. The 5 struts of the orbit and xr make it more stable kites than the pivot but the pivot really boost superwell, just requires a bit more user input in holding the power down. Less hangtime on the pivot as wel.
That intro though 👌🏼
