alhamdullah bro hope it goes well inshallah, been praying for you brother! applying this year make dua for a brother haha
My daughter and son-in-law is Emergency doctor, I was shocked by this doctor quit, for my perspective is any young people want to include his career need to figure out if you like his job or not,Are you brave enough to be a doctor, otherwise you will have lot of trouble because there is no back path😅
I left medicine before watching this.
Bless you escaped
Left and never been so happy so fulfilled. It actually matters who your support system is.
@ I’m glad you made the right choice for yourself, it would’ve been bad otherwise
Well, I got into medicine before watching this
😂😂
same lmao 😂
Lmaoo, don’t worry I’m making another vid as to why medicine is worth it
interesting point of view
Glad you think so!
Love your authenticity!
Thank you!!
@ 🙌
Why people have started thinking like that and quitting? I am from a family where there are many doctors and instead of serving they get so much burdened that they totally forget and get into the same race of competing. The capitalism and consumerism has made humans forget that they have to live a life and help and make connections rather than becoming just a part of a machine.Hope you people will not forget the spirit of human to human connection.
I love your lisp
Hhahahahaha I’m fkn dead man, thank you!
Can i apply with usmle step1
Great analysis 👍
Thank you!!
Can’t believe anybody would watch Joe Rogan except as a sociological deep dive. His pushing on debunked science and purveyed of conspiracy theories, his arch-conservatism and misogyny, etc, etc, etc… I wouldn’t wish anyone be indoctrinated into the rage ‘bro’ cult
Haha, I hope you enjoyed the election! 🦅🇺🇸

Assalamualaikum very interesting video. I'm a first year undergrad student in Australia, and here we can apply to medical/dental schools just after finishing one year of undergrad. Alhamdulillah I received MMI invites for both dental and medical schools, but I'm kind of mixed on which one I'd choose in the case I get both. What I want to do Insha'Allah is impact as many people as I can throughout my career through avenues other than my job eg setup a nonprofit or deliver lots of aid myself through the will of Allah to places like Yemen, Syria etc, and I know medicine is very consuming in the junior years which is at least 7/8 years after finishing Medical school here in Australia. I'd really appreciate it if you could offer any insights into what your thoughts are on this :)
Maggie just quit too! She's an M4 medical student.
Is she on YT or TikTok? But yeah that is pretty wild too
To understand Gooby, you need to think out of health care system. Leaving his career is a small portion of big picture. His view is very broad in comparison to yours . You cannot constrain him with one aspect !!
That’s true he’s in a different phase of his life!
Brother keep going! My is Ali, Abdul! Keep going
Thank you!! InshAllah I will
great advice
Thank you!

"Everything just seems like a scam to me" lol!! so true
Fr man
This probably is the most accurate statement. Thanks for the pointers.
@medjetaviation best of luck!
What is the resource which has tables based on symptoms - diseases..😊?
It’s called family medicine notes!! It gives great advice. Basically everything you need to know as a doctor
You really got it right, i started anki half way through my second year. So many students end up the same way, eventually turning to it since it is such a foolproof resource
Yeah man probably my biggest mistakes. It always seemed too daunting but even a little bit or even if you do it for a single topic you can do soo much better. And you’re able to answer questions verbally
great content!
Thank you!!
lmao this was funny asl hahahah
The most important point is not emphasized on , which is fixing the root of the cause and not just the symptoms. If you continue to fix the wall and not the roof where the real problem is, well you will be fixing those wall for the rest of your life until it kill you.
Congratulations. What do you attribute your successful match to? I ask beacuse I am a Canadian that is about to start the IMG route in Australia.
God, family, blood sweat and tears. Honestly lool. It takes an insane amount of work and some prayer
Great video. May Allah protect you and Ayesha
Thank you Wajeeha :)
Lovely Abdul. congratulations. very happy for you. May Allah bless you with best rewards in your life❤❤❤
Ameeen, thank you!
Awesome!!!
Thanks!!
He quit medicine to do drugs with his hipster brother inlaw... now he's pretending to be a nutritionist on youtube
You can’t react to matters of morality as it’s highest form of humanity
Thank you Abdul!
No problem! Best of luci
Amazing video brother. would you mind doing a video describing your journey from med-school to residency.
Thank you for the idea I’ll definitely work on something!
Congrats! Great work!
Thank you! Cheers!
Thank you for recognizing his courage. What he did was extremely courageous. I feel that, because I left my career as a minister and Bible scholar when I realized my religion was false, at age 40. I lost everything my life had been about, and I had to start over. It was the most frightening thing I have ever done, but it was the only thing I could do to keep my integrity. When everyone in my life saw me as an apostate, I knew it took deep courage to face the rejection of my friends and family and rebuild my life from scratch in mid-life. The circumstances are different, but the courage is the same, and Dr Goobie has my deepest respect.
Yes- very true to step out of your profession- or any career..: stepping out..my sincere deepest thank you… for all the levels of sacrifice- I am well aware..glad we all are in support of Goobie!! You are all great!!! Wonderful kind doctors!!
Kudos to Goobie for knowing himself. We've all been at a point where we want to change careers, jobs, etc. Goobie just made a decision to do what you love regardless of money. It's not always about money.
100% agreed.
He was 20 years vested. You're still in your residency. Who knows what you feel when you're in your actual careers.
That’s true, would be interesting to look back at this
Health care in the USA is not to help people get well, it’s a business, a huge business and businesses are there to make money, as much as possible. Medicine is taught ignoring this fact, as I see it, there is a disconnect between the teaching and the practice. That’s the reason why you can get very frustrated as doctor practicing medicine in the USA.
Can you go for residency training in Canada if you are not a Canadian citizen?
Need to be citizen or permanent resident
Bro this was gold!!! Thank you!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Congratulations brother! You are very honest and you will make a great doctor ! Congratulations
I appreciate that!
hi 5 to Dr Goobie for putting it out there in my country hospital staff have done the same walked away from the profession from doctors to nurses etc some turned to substance abuse to get them through before walking away from all of it and some took their own lives even Dr Goobie put it out there that he was in a dark place so Dr Goobie is diffinitely not alone some where in the world someones making the same decision as Dr Goobie for a different life style....and thats OK
Dr goobie was talking about morality and Ethics that Desi can not resonate with where they worried about their debts or bills, while playing with Human life, to become Dr. India Pakistan or other third world countries its way out from poverty what he did to come out tell the truth not many can achieve highest level.. Good luck with your career.
TSM for your effort. Please could you make a video about express entry for under-graduated IMG in their last 2 years of medical school and How to increase points ?
I’ve never done this or know anything about it so I won’t be able to make a video on it unfortunately
I’m applying to the match this year from Ireland as well! So happy it worked out for you
Best of luck!!
Helo Sir, are you resident of India? If yes, how did you get admission in university of Ireland? Is it through entrance exam?
Canadian citizen. I won’t have the answer for this question because I’ve never done this, I’m sorry!
I think people are overgeneralizing from this video as a so-called confession against Western medicine when in fact the RUclipsr here (and former neurosurgeon) is making a very precise narrow argument against the limited advancements of treatments available in neuroscience NOT all of medicine. To be sure, what doctors do when using antibiotics to CURE (not treat, but cure) illness is legit. Also, many operations are indeed successful in curing and saving patients: e.g. many heart procedures such as bypasses, valve repairs, etc. People continue to live due to kidney and liver transplants, which are an example of effective surgeries that provide people many years and even decades of continued life, not to mention pain relief. What the RUclipsr here is lamenting is the limited successes in the field of neuroscience and neurosurgery, not all of medicine. And within neuroscience he was lamenting not being able to pursue a subsection of neurosurgery he was interested in: neurosurgery in the brain and spinal operations. If Dr. Goobie really loves medicine, after he recovers from his midlife crisis (as he called it himself in a joking way), he can always retrain in a field where operations DO MATTER, such as heart surgery, kidney surgery, liver surgery (i.e. thoracic medicine) where he would be able to save many lives and actually CURE people, not just TREAT symptoms, which lamentably is in fact what most doctors talk about, instead of curing. But let's not forget the actual limited message of this RUclips video and make claims Dr. Goobie never made in this video.
