Surely not while racing or spirited driving...but the guy is doing neither...he's just trying to manuever in a tight garage. He probably removed the power steering from the car too so it would make sense to use the spokes on the steering wheel for leverage.

When the evidence is clear to a winning strategy, it's not "making fun of", it's simply pointing out the obvious. Not in a single racing sport will the driver grab the steering from the inside (PERIOD).
