To all church musicians, your music carries a powerful message of hope and healing, especially in times of trouble. In your ministry, songs become prayers, and like the psalmists, your gift lifts hearts, comforts the broken, and reminds the world that God is near. As we come into seasons of conflict and loss - keep playing, keep singing - music is a testament to faith that transcends all. "The ...

NEW Music: Rise Heart; Thy Lord Has Risen!
I’m doing this sort of thing from the organ with several hymns, but it’s essential to maintain the pace right through the whole hymn, allowing a rallentando at the end but no pauses etc anywhere else.
What a fun and charming piece! As always, thank you SJMP for providing so many excellent options
Gorgeous gorgeous
Thanks! We think so, too!
Beauty, peace and hope encapsulated in 3 minutes and 41 seconds. Thank you.
It's our absolute pleasure.
Thank you :>) Lenten blessings to all.
Our pleasure!

Hauntingly gorgeous!
We love it!

Great text and original music; thank you for this.
It is sincerely our pleasure.
Thank you! This is not only beautiful, but simple for our small choir with limited voices......
This can be instantly downloaded with a subscription to St. James Music Press (which also includes Learning Tracks, liturgical planing tools and so much more)! Here's the link: www.sjmp.com/catalog/music/how-shall-i-sing-majesty-0
A thrilling arrangement, beautiful descant. Where may I get this arrangement?
I've been hoping to find just such a communion anthem. Please write more for small choir like this. Thank you, once again!
I'll still have to put it into Finale and transpose it down. I only have one soprano that can sing above an E. Please keep us aging choir folks in mind for that upper range. Thanks!
I would suggest that composers for small church choirs make an effort to avoid writing a soprano part above an E. Also, pay close attention to the tessitura of the soprano part.
Thanks for the feedback, Robert! Our editors have a lot of experience with small church choirs and much of our catalog is dedicated to such. We can appreciate keeping things within a modest range. That being said, sometimes the music calls for a stretch. :-) We hope you'll give it a try!
Wow! This is fantastic! A thrilling piece!
Yes, it is!
Sorry, but no.
I love this
Beautiful! 😍
We think so, too!
Gorgeous adaptation of plainchant.
I really enjoyed singing this under Malcolm’s hand this past 2022 SCMC conference. Truly a joy. Thanks for sharing this!!! Great memories.
I went to Bolton High with Beverly. She was my High School Prom Date when she was Beverly Brown. As I stepped all over her feet, she gave me a kiss on the cheek and said, "The Prom isn't the place to learn to dance. At a recent High School Reunion, she came over and told my wife about it and the band immediately began playing "All These Things" by Joe Stampley and the Uniques. This time I didn't step on her feet! 😅
What a great story! Thanks for sharing it with us.
It's hymn #1095 in "All Creation Sings" from Augsburg Fortress. Nice arrangement from SJMP!
Wonderful arrangement. We are slated to have a new organ at our church by the end of October. We will trot this out shortly thereafter. (Our current instrument couldn't support this type of singing very well.)
With all due respect, what the hell is "Goddess grace"?
Hello, James. While using a feminine pronoun in reference to God (and specifically the Holy Spirit) can be difficult for some to hear, it's not entirely inaccurate. Interestingly, the Hebrew word for Spirit, ruach, is considered feminine. The word for God, Elohim, is masculine. And peppered throughout scripture, poetic language gives God both masculine and feminine characteristics such as God having a womb and giving birth (Job 38:29) or comforting us like a mother (Isaiah 66:13). It's clear that Jesus was born and man and refers to God as His "father" and as such we have grown most comfortable framing our understanding of God in this masculine context. However, we would encourage you to remain open to what can be revealed about the nature of God. Like Job, these things are often beyond what is comfortable and outside the bounds of our understanding.
@@stjamesmusicpress Well, in a world where people are now actively engaging in actual pagan worship once again, it seems a bit of a dicey choice, tbh. But I grant that obviously the feminine is contained in the Godhead, even if that is not the traditional way of referring to God. (Seems rather modernist, if we're being honest.) PS, it's "GoddesS". At least on the first page the score is missing an s.
And, FWIW, I appreciate your detailed and sincere reply.
@@PipeDreamerJacques Please know, that we are mindful of how our publications may influence the spiritual lives of those who hear them. The intent is not to confuse, but respond in the present, to what the wisdom of scripture and tradition compel us.
@@PipeDreamerJacques That matters quite a bit. Thank you, James.
yes, interesting version!
Isn't that a nice little score?
Bravo!
Love the medieval feel.

Thank you, Nolan Patrick Reilly! It was a pleasure to be with you this morning! And thank you, St. Thomas More University Parish and Our Lady's Cathedral for sharing him with us!
Is there any way I could purchase a copy of these recorded songs?
I'm so sorry. We do not have copies of the recordings available for purchase but please feel free to enjoy this Tea Time video as much as you like.
Thank you
Beautiful and peaceful.
Thank you.

Miss this man and his many gifts. He made beautiful music. Thank you for posting.
It is our pleasure.
Mark was proof that God has a sense of humor.
Indeed!
Mark is truly missed.
He is missed! What he did to bring joy in music, make planning a pleasure, and inspire musicians of all abilities, was a gift from God, through him.
Thank you, M. We agree!
Beautiful music, and thanks for sharing this.
It is our pleasure!
So beautiful - so very Mark. Thank you for publishing this!
It is our pleasure!
Beautiful piece! There is a misprint, I believe, in measure 26. It should probably be Eb in both parts. The singer sings Eb which sounds right in context, but the organ plays E natural, which sound strange in context.
Thanks, Alex! We'll check it out.
Just gorgeous! I love the harmonic shift going into the m. 25... it's very evocative of Ned Rorem in the following measures. My choir will definitely love this. :-)
We're so glad to hear you like it as much as we do!
